Anyone who has ever met him would tell you exactly the same thing. He is humble and genuine and caring and the way the media has treated him the last two years is nothing short of shameful!

And what’s more shameful is the amount of supporters who fell for the lies.

His player Ratings back up the disappointing 2024 but also a reasonable rebound without being back to his best. Noting that 2020 was the compromised Covid season with shorter quarters but where he was still ranked the No.1 player ahead of Tracc (3.56) and Max (2.95).

And when i say reasonable, that rebound still sees him sitting in the No.2 ranking only behind the skipper this season! So reasonable needs to be kept in context as in reasonable vs his prior magnifique years (inc. B&Fs)!

Can he get back to his best or somewhere near it? Let's hope so.

Watching Clazz in full flight is a sight to behold and something etched in my memory. Defined by so many Houdini moments of brilliance. He still showes that from time to time, but without the explosive leg strength and side stepping, baulking and miraculous off the ground scoops (etc!) we had come to take somewhat for granted over his very best seasons.

But we should never say never. He just might get there or very close.

Regardless no one can take the best that Clazz has given us away, including the 2021 season with the magnificent finish.

May he keep on Clarrying on!

Spot on Mb, Claz didn’t cope well at all with not being able to play. He doesn’t know how to do sidelines. He tried and it didn’t work out and he spiralled. As you said, he’d never had to deal with injury before.

Clazza is my favourite player of all time. He is super humble and friendly. Lovely to my kids (and all kids for that matter) and very genuine.

He could’ve retired at the conclusion of 2021 and would still be one of the greatest MFC players of all time.

I won’t be there this week as I am overseas but I will be watching at a bar somewhere….

I often bemoan the polished yet guarded and vanilla responses that many players pump out to the media, so Clarry is a breath of fresh air in this respects.

It was his bang in the bang bang bang that really put the exclamation mark on the play and probably also broke the back of the Bulldogs spirit. It's a pity that Sparrow, who nailed the bang before in a great moment won't be out there to celebrate with Clarry today.

Any assertion that Clarry doesn't deserve to be at the MFC now is totally misguided. I remember (as many here probably do too) Clarry's humble beginnings at out footy club. It was a struggling shambolic mess of a team on the feild. Clarry came in as an underrated 18 yo kid and quickly stamped his mark on the comp as one of, if not the best young players of the competition in a bottom four side.

He could have easily walked to another club after two years like that $cully bloke did before him. Him sticking around helped us build a core midfield team around him, Trac and Viney. Even in subsequent years 2018 - 2020 when he was an undoubted top 10 player in the comp, he could have sought out success at one of the power clubs of the time. But Clarry stuck fat with the MFC and played a key part in the only flag in my lifetime.

As a supporter I highly value loyalty in our players, but it cuts both ways. The way the club leadership including Goodwin, Gawn and Brad Green 'put its arms around' Clarry in his darkest times is something that I'm proud of. Clarry is also known as a manic trainer, with the bigger problem at times being holding him back from training too hard- he'llget back to his best, don't worry about that.

Congratulations on 200 games Clarry. Red and Blue through and through and really hope we get to celebrate his milestone with a great win ❤️‍🔥💙❤️‍🔥💙

And not unexpected. They rightfully fawned over Trac ahead of his 200th, but Clarry isn’t glamorous enough for them. Another shameful display from a bunch of losers.

My dear and ancient mum has watched her Dees through the glory era of the 50's and 60's and subsequent less than glorious eras up until the current day. She no longer goes to matches but armed with her Foxtel IQ and an arsenal of remote controls, she still watches every game.

She rates Clarrie second only to the great Robbie.
