A very good listen

Out of all the passionate nonsense these guys were dribbling on this podcast, I nearly crashed my car when they all agreed Buckley was the ideal Goodwin replacement. How many coaches have won premierships coaching their second team this century?

I get some supporters find this stuff cathartic, but 95% of the conversation either contradicted something said earlier in the pod, or just made no rational sense whatsoever.

I agreed with about 90% of what they said

I've always found (at least 90% of the time) when people say it's a good listen what they really mean is these guys agree with my thinking...

Just saved me a listen because this is exactly how I thought it would go.

They have @Demonland covered in terms of MFCSS 90% of the time too.

The DeeBrief.. lols.

You know you're scraping the barrel when you're taking these guys guys.

I had low expectations but i didn't think it was too bad.

the guy in the baseball cap not bad. the other 2, I wouldn't pay too much attention to.

They discuss the same issues we do here. Some of their prescriptions though. Why anyone thinks Nathan Buckley is the answer is beyond me. Took a premiership pies list and drove it into the ground. Plus he's been sitting on a couch for 3 years.

I’m a subscriber to the DeeBrief but their content can be very reactionary

And sometimes it’s just hard to get through because they won’t stay on topic for more than a minute before someone else jumps in

Regardless they’re just Dees fans going through it at the moment like we all are - and FWIW I agree with the overall sentiment on the need for change

But if your answer is Nathan Buckley then it’s a good thing you’re not at the club making these decisions 🤣

Yep as weird as it seems a rookie coach is the way to go, you would think experience would be helpful but it seems to work against coaches the longer they are in the system

Yeah, to be clear the last thing I want to do is start a Deebrief pile on. I listen to them probably once a week on average, but take them for what they are - nuffie fans with little to no idea about the inner workings of the club or what's going right or wrong on field (like all of us posting on here).

Depends how you like your hyperbole I guess.

Surprised they scored an interview with Greenie considering the way they rage about everything.

Sounds like an ideal candidate for the saints

If toxicity is your thing you should watch some of the EFL fan channels

Deebrief very tame in comparison

That touches on the most interesting thing about this edition for me. Adrian, who runs the pod, normally "toes the party line" which no doubt assists with access to Club officers and employees.

They have reached an anti-Simon view and he was happy for that to be aired.....

Yes the Buckley talk was certainly overdone…

The episodes with Ryan from the Demon Army are the better ones. He's very measured, articulate and non-reactionary, while still being passionate.

I felt they were taking the [censored] a little bit on the Nathan Buckley topic. Maybe just desperation to have someone other than Simon.

I am also desperate 😅😭

Big Changes are needed, there’s no doubt. Last Year’s Review was a sham, so the problems, whatever they are, have got worse. I am just interested to hear guys talking, who are 30 years younger than me, I don’t want them to go through the pain that i went through Decade after Decade.

This Current Situation could well be the Fork in the Road

‘26 cannot be a Rinse and Repeat

Agree, Buckley is not the answer.

Some horrific superiority complexes here.

Some very passionate dees fans doing what they love. Provide content (invaluable for overseas fans like myself) for basically $0. Pile on is unnecessary.

If any of the guys are reading - keep being authentic. I love your work as much as I love Andy, George and Binman. Don't have to agree to appreciate 👏 👏 👏

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seemed as though The DeeBrief guys were having a crack at Goody for not playing Nathan Jones in the GF. Didn't NJ leave the Perth hub during the '21 grand final week to be with his wife who was about to give birth to twins?

Also, while I agree that change is desperately needed, can we please never consider Nathan Buckley as the coach of the Melbourne Football Club ever again?

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
