Wines 5 steps tackled dropped the ball play on

Viney 0.5 steps arm pinned HTB and 50. At this point it's a total rort.

Pathetic.

Petracca, May, Lever not much better.

Pathetic leadership from some of our core leaders today

AFL has become unwatchable due to maggot infestation

It's getting way too close.

If it's not the iffy frees it's the 50 m penalties.

Then the lack of calling ports holding the ball.

It's not as bad as last week by a mile but it's still pretty poor.

Still waiting to see who in our FD or coaching staff is accountable for 4 years of putrid kicking that has coated us finals and chances to make it to finals.

Viney, Oliver and Tracc. Going nowhere whilst these 3 chew up most of our midfield minutes and a huge chunk of salary cap.

Viney shouldn’t have played this week and the other 2 have done nothing to improve their horrendous decision making and skills in years.

On what planet is that HTB?

The planet where we are playing.

Absolute farce. We won’t but we should demand an explanation from the AFL on that one. Cost us a goal.

That's absolutely criminal. Dangerous tackle as we've seen paid to Port several times, but then the umpire is calling for Viney to 'release it', which of course he can't because he's trapped underneath the opposition player. If he does release it, it's an instant 50m, as we saw with Kozzie last week.

We must be the dumbest and most undisciplined side in the competition.

Bad free kick but suck it up Viney, you're a senior F'ing player!

Every quarter has ended with a soft free kick and goal. It’s cooked.

Our senior leaders are so bad at basic decision making. Viney needs to go.

Can’t say we haven’t had our chances, again!

But tell me how Wines not holding the ball

Rozee not holding the ball. Viney holding the ball how it’s actually disgusting that of those 3 Viney gets pinged.

We are definitely our own worst enemy tho.

Golden chances in front of goal. Max. Sparrow. Petty. Clarry. It’s inexplicable how poor we are inside 50.

Not watching no more of this game.

Irrespective of our many faults.

Not being able to kick goals straight in front.

Continually bombing it.

Pressing up too far.

Bad choices.

The maggots have done my head in again this week.

Kicking at goal.... Pathetic.

Tracc is the worst kick in the comp. He is trade bait.

I think we have the dumbest group of players in the league, every week we shoot ourselves in the foot from completely stupid decision making.

That was not bad umpiring it was just [censored] brain dead from Viney. 4 seconds left and he wants to be a smarty pants. 3rd [censored] time out of 3 they get a goal after the siren. This [censored] team. Don’t get me started on Sparrow, Petty and Oliver. [censored] sake Viney.

If we weren’t too busy licking the windows midweek instead of doing goal kicking practice we’d be 4 goals up!

This club is [censored] excruciatingly painful to follow!

Can any of our senior players fwd of the ball kick???!!!!

Had an arm free, didn’t try.

The mistake was running clear of traffic when you wanted a ball up. If he just moved in to the pack he’d have been fine.

But Jack’s small brain tries to cash cheques his body can’t any more

Another brain fade

Shocker Viney

So ill disciplined and often by our so called leaders at critical moments

Poor discipline is poor footy

Gotta adhere to 'team first' always or you're out. That should be the coach and on field leadership mantra

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
