Can’t understand why TMac has been dropped for Lever & Sharp should always be a sub!!!!

Maybe Tmac has a giggle that we don't know about?

Start watching the game late, just caught up to the broadcast.

AJ - likely 1 week based upon the hit on Fargo the week before, not sure why he jumped though.

Kossie first shot, - really worried it showed they weren't switch on as then the saints went on a super purple patch. But two marks up the top of the square by the saints in the 2nd must've Goodwin pull what hair he has left out. Really poor by the boys in defence.

Back to 13 points, we look more in control but need less posters and more goals.

The left seems to be much easier to score at, so we need to wn this qtr going into the last.

137 disposals for the half for us seems characteristically low.

I'm tellin' youse all somethin' most of you already know, Disco will be one of our best inside the next 12 months.

Great one grab mark, beautiful kick, makes great decisions. I'd like to see him forward but that'll depend on who comes in - TMac, JvR and/or MJ.

AJ certainly to miss next week so JvR will get the nod you'd expect.

Ross is a very astute coach. He’s shut down Langdon and Bowey and we’ve lost all our drive and spread.

You can add that he’s taken Windsor back to the square and Butler, who’s a smart forward, has kicked 3 from the goal square.

We are missing Spargo’s pressure and tackling

And Kozzie

Max doesn't focus on the goals long enough. He looks down with just the odd glance at the sticks and then always misses. Simply needs to lift his head up. Small change.

Reckon it's just plain psychology ATM as it is with a bunch of 'em.
Same with Pickett and his rushed play on kicks.
None are confident they'll kick straight.
Little men in their heads telling them "You'll miss, you'll miss, you'll miss" .... And they do.

That’s poor coaching from us. Windsor shouldn’t be sucked into the last line of defense. Ever.

Salem should be on Butler.

Not sure why people are having a crack at Healy’s commentary. He clearly thinks we are the better side and should win. Like us, I think he’s found our uneven effort after working so hard over the last month confounding. I agree with him.

Shut up Healy.

Talks out of his [censored]. Foxtel commendatory team add zero to footy viewing experience rather listen to Brian’s inanities.

One at ground front of the camera. Shows Fox commitment.

Again we can pop Kosi in the goal square and free him up. I would play him close to goal and break the tag.

The problem is Turner has become our premier tall defender. Lever having a quiet one again. May a rusty first quarter. I'd love Disco fwd though.

did Healy just say he’d just got back from the crack lab??

could explain a lot

We had a very similar 2nd quarter last week, very inaccurate with a lot of inside 50s.

We have had a very inaccurate forward line with loads of inside 50’s for the past 3 years

great block there by lever.

showing some good intent so far.

A good 6-8 players might want to pull their finger out this half and do something.

Again back to leaving too much up to too few.

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.

The Demons have the Bye next week but then are on the road once again when they come up against the Gold Coast Suns on the Gold Coast in what could be a last ditch effort to salvage their season. Who comes in and who comes out?

The Demons simply did not take their opportunities when they presented themselves and ultimately when down by 25 points effectively ending their finals chances. Goal kicking practice during the Bye?
