What planet are you on picket?

Turner is our key back for the next 10 years. The worst thing we can do for his career is to keep swinging him forward, back, forward, back

Agree but he did kick 3 great goals earlier after dominating in defence. Petty useless as forward but better at defence. BUT whole piont is this why is our bestt defender for last 2 years T.Mac not playing?? Thats down to Goodwin!

Kozzy forward to try and shake the tag pls

Healy and Dwayyyne Russell are Dees haters!! Healy especially. Calling Saints frees ,Question Dees frees ,Riv hit in head, … play on ! Healy hates Dees ever since we beat him and the $$$Swans in 1987 finals !!

We lifted our intensity a lot that quarter thank God, but we largely still played like rubbish I thought. Stupid errors like Melksham pulling the kick back to the top of the 50 where the sea of hands couldn't keep the ball locked and Butler ended up scoring. Even towards the end of that quarter when Max got the free just not thinking before taking that short pass and nearly costing us another goal.

We need to bloody relax, take a second to think and then execute. Oliver, Langdon, Rivers all need to lift.

I said i would have taken a quarter where we made inroads into the lead, I still think we can play a lot better. The game should open up a bit in the second half and allow more chances, just take them because every game is an elimination final from here on in.

How many weeks for AJ?

He’s a nobody and already been suspended this season, so 3

No concussion so you’d guess just 1 week but the MRO will spin their wheel of nonsense

137 disposals as a team for a whole half. Surely that's got to be the lowest for a team this year?

2/3

The Saints are getting their goals from quick transition, or a "joe-the-goose" over the back. Small structural changes from the Dees in the 2nd half should clog this up.

Lindsay onto Butler and Windsor onto the wing.

May and Lever getting better as the game continues, Turner is in our best 3 or 4 players, Bowey and Rivers to lift.

AJ 3 weeks.

No concussion so it will be 1-2, probably 2 given how unnecessary it was.

Sinclair has 17 kicks at 100% efficiency

Can we put someone on him Simon?!?

100%.
He's a nobody so will get 3 for sure.

Forward tackle count is atrocious.

Max doesn't focus on the goals long enough. He looks down with just the odd glance at the sticks and then always misses. Simply needs to lift his head up. Small change.

Was AJ's hit he gave out, any worse than the one Spargo got?

Saints forward line is not tall. Tmac, like May, is slow to react and useless below his knees. IMO we could only play one of them today

At least Keeler was quiet in the 2nd qtr

We should start pickett fwd and isolate windhanger deep.

May was good in the second

Thats my first thoughts but we lose his midfield drive even though he’s providing none atm 🤷‍♂️

Yes, but he is hopeless below his knees. We could not play both May and Tmac today

Melbourne are the most frustrating footy team ever. That is all

Can’t understand why TMac has been dropped for Lever & Sharp should always be a sub!!!!

Ross is a very astute coach. He’s shut down Langdon and Bowey and we’ve lost all our drive and spread.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
