Neither JVR or Fritsch seemed to do too much in the VFL, so a different setup again.

I do love the Kozzy one out alone in the f50. You'd have to back him in to win it 70 percent of the time.

The transformation has me scratching my head though.

I did like his chentle push no he was holding his ground to take the mark from behind and run in to the goal, Classy Yes he can win 1 on 1 most times, scary to be on him if you are a defender, And I understand he was out for 3 matches but where has that pressure game been, missing is the answer

Exactly my point Kent. Yesterday my impression was the players played to their strengths not being told how to play. They were off the lease compared to the first 4 games. Of course it helped that they were not held back buy 2 forwards who are sadly out of form / nqr.

The only reason we kicked a high score, we played on (modern game style) most of the time which gave the forwards plenty of space.

You will be correct if our players strengths are to share the ball the way we did (at speed)

Along with corridor use, bringing their teammates into the game*, less boundary hugging and very few long bombs to packs. And selfless teamwork**

I'm convinced that we finally got a buy-in from the players to play the modern style

But regardless of the why's & wherefore's, the question is, can we keep it up, old dee?

*Clarrie was a great example yesterday of how he was back to his best in terms of bring his teammates into the game (the little give handpass to advantage a player streaming forward)

**The selfless teamwork was something that was noted and talked about in 2021 (so that's a real positive)

When was the last time we won a game playing a game style like we saw yesterday?

• Fast paced offense

• Use of the corridor

• Sharing of the ball as a first option

• Always looking for teammates

• Minimal boundary line hugging

• Very few long bombs to the forward pockets

• Playing as a team

• Handpassing forward as a weapon

Yesterday was a revelation in some ways but of course, we need to continue on the same course

We're also playing catch-up so whether we may revert to old habits remains to be seen

Apologies if this repeats an earlier post, but I thought we looked really dangerous at centre bounces due to handballing through the congestion and having really good position for i50 entries. Ripped them apart a number of times.

And Spargo and CHinny Chin Chin, 2 Schooners and my darling was apologising to the other patrons saying He thinks he is at home. Some silly errors but stil reasons to smile Go Dees

On that, at one point in the last quarter, Max was lining up for goal and Kolt was standing on the goal line. I was in the front row on a flogger and Kolt turned around, caught eyes with me, raised his eyebrows, very subtly nodded towards Max and discreetly did the hand action of ‘turn it up!’ I turned to Ryan, our awesome chief noise-maker and said “Kolt wants us to go nuts!” And we did.

Max kicked a behind but that’s not the point. The point is, it felt as though Kolt wanted Max to hear and see the support, which for mine is a great sign, to see a young player care about his captain like that.

It also confirmed what a cheeky bugger Kolt is. I haven’t been in the cheer squad for as long as others but I’m sure this is something a seasoned player might do, not so much a colt, if you will 😁

What I’m reading is that you were single handedly responsible for Max missing that goal.
