Happy for JVR and Fritta to back and find some form in the 2nds, thats what it's there for. Good luck to Fullerton, I hope he has an impact.

I know we needed change, but I don’t really get these changes. Goody himself said our defence was the issue. We’re too easy to score against.

So he drops our forwards? What’s the message there? Fritter has not been his best but he has been better recently. Scored 25% of our goals last week lol. JVR is down on confidence big time but delivery to him has also been HORRIBLE, AND he is being used in ruck which is a huge waste and stunting development.

Goody better hope our delivery is like a million times better this week otherwise he’s going to look silly. And freo will punish, again, more than the bombers that’s for sure.

Hope the cream rises to the top. Happy with disco returning, should not have been dropped after just one game back.

Anyway, here’s hoping we start working it out soon.

Spargo lucky to survive

Melksham lucky to survive … surely he’s the sub

Henderson- just not up to AFL standards yet

JVR had to go

Fritta … he’ll be back soon

Turner in - yes

Fullarton in - yes BUT GIVE HIM 2-3 GAMES

Throlstrup- across half forward and must do running both ways

Casey forward line a dress rehearsal for ANZAC Eve? Fritta and Roo recalled, Jeffo called up?

Not sure I get McVee coming back through Casey, but Tholstrup straight in.

Wouldn't put it past this week being more about token droppings/selections as well as pitting a player like Fullarton up against it, so he can be easily written off. We're a cynical bunch here at demonland mad

Great to see we’re dropping 205 games of experience and replacing them with 49—courtesy of three players who wouldn’t crack the 22 at most clubs this week. And two of the three are the wrong ones. If I’m JVR, I’m calling my manager tonight.

surely, JvR won't leave us?

What about the deesgraceful deelivery to forward line?

We kicked 8 goals last week and Fritta kicked 2 of em!

Are you serious? JVR has been garbage. Hot, garbage. Calling his manager? Go for it, he’ll probably get told to pull his head in and play better

Yes. And don’t call me serious.

Omac's selection brought a football related smile to my face for the first time in weeks. Love it.

Seriously impressive effort to get back playing AFL footy after not one, but two very serious, long term injuries.

Respect.

So, logically, our second ruck should be TMac.

We see your Mac, and raise you 5 letters!

See how they like them apples.

Shirley, you must be joking?

Cream getting a gig on the back of a great main session today. Kept a clean sheet playing in goal and saved a Salo penalty when he tried a Panenka.

Turn it up @Anti-Saint . Can you just remind me again. When did Friter last chase down an oppo player and win a free kick?

And I do not understand what you’re saying about JVR.

As harsh as it sounds, I am surprised Clayton Oliver wasn't dropped.

His two-way running efforts were not up to AFL standard last week.

I hope he greatly improves this against Fremantle on Saturday.

If nothing else, it sends a message

And by default, it puts a number of others on notice

So I like the changes (in principle)

Yes, good on OMac - that's some serious tenacity. His knee injury on debut for Freo last year looked horrible. Hope he gets through unscathed.

Did we? Where?

I think one of the boundary riders on the Fox broadcast mentioned It after over hearing it during the huddle at Q1.

What you just know you’ll get from Tholstrup is energy and enthusiasm. Given how we’re playing, if for no other reason, you get him in for that.

Seriously we all know so much more than the coaches if they just jumped on here and took our advice we'd start winning.

I’d have thought it’s Turner for JVR, Fullarton for Fritsch and Tholstrup for Henderson.

Yes Kolt for Hendo sorry

Fullo for JVR (1st stringers)

Turner for Fritta (2nd stringers). Effectively that's a 2nd stringer (but not really a 2nd stringer) in for a one of two third stringers (Melk & Fritta)

Is there also a chance Simon throws Turner down back to allow Petty to go forward? It does give him that option later in the game also if he doesn't start that way.

JVR stiff - our forward entries hardly encourage our fwds to lead. Fritsch dropped for Turner is a week too late. Fullarton also should have played last week. Let's play some guys with some evidence of form. Johnson should have been a consideration last week too. Goody says we are not going hard enough at it, not enough fight - AJ has a serious crack and unsettles his opponents, and does a fair job giving Max a chop out. I vowed I was not going to watch a team with Spargo in it - what is the ongoing love affair selectors have for Spargo - surely Laurie or Brown have more attributes? Come to think of it, I think I do! Spargs has the Coach, selectors and half his teams mates (those who keep kicking high balls to him when he has an opponent) hypnotised.

I’d say he is the only one that has composure going into the f50. He is only really let down by his athletic ability.

If he gets the ball enough around half forward he’d get a lot of score involvements

I like it.

I will feel better losing doing something different than doing the same thing each week and losing.

I hope the players play a different game as well.

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
