This thread has become super cringe and yet its only one person that wants to keep it alive for whatever reason other then he/she thinks the club is being victimised in the media.

Demonland at its best.

  1. Just heap [censored] on Melksham and Petracca

That's a person who's worried about his own stats."

🗣️ Luke Hodge on Christian Petracca's body language after a Kozzy Pickett goal

  1. The joint is a mess. Good football clubs don't leak and they've got leaks everywhere."

🗣️ Dale Thomas on the Melbourne Football Club

Sorry but Hodge has every right to comment on a players body language. Take a look at the vision, it’s not flattering to one of our highest paid senior players. I’ve got little idea of any behind the scenes workings at the club and it’s likely not as bad as it’s being portrayed but we’re not the victim here. I’m tentatively bullish on the list but we really need a strong coach (Daly for mine) and some realistic list and assistant decisions. Feels like a fork in the road…..but I feel I’ve said that before!

My sum total of media watching this year (and listening) was the Front Bar recently with big Max. Fabulous viewing. Mick Molloy and Sam sparked beautifully off Max.

No Kayo, binge, anything on 7 or 9. Except the odd evening news snippet.

Best thing I ever did, The commentariat are garbage these days and relay on clickbait statements to garner relevancy.

My recommendation to all on here bitching abotu the 4th estate. Just swithc them off and talk amongst ourselves on here. There always some good commentary, opinions and predictions whcih I enjoy greatly.

Daisy Thomas in the media? Spare me. Even Whately toes the party line in the guise of being thoughtful

Gerard Healy hates the Dees

Every week he says things that show he is biased not to us but against us !!!

Example 3rd quarter

Baker clearly crunched Langford in the neck

Healy - “just bumped him off the ball”… “fair in love and war”

Ball passed to Naughton and Dogs goal

Tom Hawkins - “Langford probably deserves a free kick high there”

Remember that part clearly. Did not realise who said bumped off the ball . Makes clear sense , Show him the money similar to HWSNBN. $$ talk

But to focus on a player not running over to give high 5s all the time. That has NEVER been Trac at all. He just is wired for the glory and not the supporting act. I want him to get back to being the ONE, where he wants to footy, demands the footy and wants to kick the goal.

My point is that IF YOU GO LOOKING THROUGH SPY CAM at many games, you can pinpoint lots and lots of players who wanted the footy and were disappointing their teammate chose another option. Lots and lots … so is Hodge going to focus that on Charlie Cameron or Izak Rankine or Jamie Elliott etc etc etc when they throw their arms up after not getting the pass !!! Really!!

Don't know what Hodges body language was when he got picked up for drink driving on the eve of the 2015 finals. He's a prat, like most of the pontificating ex-players on the media. All trying to.make a name for themselves. Sickening.

Don't get me started on David [censored] King.

I actually thought kicking to Trac was the right option. We got lucky that Koz kicked a goal. Ludicrous that Trac is being called out for something that happens dozens of times in every game.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

Concerningly, average attendances in 2024 were 2,660 fans per match, with the women’s game incurring an annual loss of approximately $50 million.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
