I have only come across Jay Clark this year, apart from the odd nothing comment on MMM

I don’t like his style at all…

Aside from this site I pretty much now ignore any other media, be it what’s on telly or in the newspapers or any other social media when it comes to anything about football. (other than watching the games)

Ironically, when the footy season started I also chose to no longer watch the news on tv at night time . It was really beginning to make me depressed.

Outcome being I look forward to watching the games come Thursday night and onwards as well as attending our games.

For me ignorance is now bliss when it comes to not knowing what is going down in the commercial entertainment industry called the AFL, as well what is happening in the real world.

Lloyd first. He gets so excited when he wins the footy question segment, amongst the other drivel. Then when he loses, he questions the veracity of the answer and the question.

I couldn't be bothered talking about so many others at the moment save to say that their intellectual capacity is indicative of their sense of humour.

it's actually incredible how much the media hates the MFC and has done for many many years. I can remmeber the narrative after we won the premiership - it was all "when will the premiership hangover kick in", "it's gone to their heads", "they are an arrogant, selfish group". Barely any attention waqs given to the premiership itself.

Many more examples I could go through but I really don't have the energy.

After trying to have the coach fired at the beginning of the uear, it's all attention on Oliver again, now that we are winning. The fl0gs in the media pedal care for mental health and it's just virtue signalling for the masses. They are clickbait specialists with no care for the individual. They pick and choose their targets. Some clubs, like Geelong, have their dirty laundry tidied up, while ours is hang out to dry. It's pathetic.

How many weeks until we are sacking Gawn as captain again, or when is the next piece on Tracc and his disdain for the club. Bunch of nonsense.

Racetrack Ralphy who's not everyone's cup of tea but is a passionate Demon and long time media figure put it best when I heard him speak before a game years ago.

For the big clubs, good news sells. That's why you'll rarely see anything critical about Collingwood, Richmond, Hawthorn, Geelong and West Coast in WA. And why you get the annual "this is their year - things are different this time around" article about Essendon when they're 7-5 at halfway before the inevitable falling off a cliff.

For the smaller clubs, bad news sells. Only a small amount of people actually care about any good news, the vast majority only want to read about any drama or negative slants about the likes of Norf, Dogs, us, Saints and Freo in WA.

This isn't to say that every negative report on us is rubbish by the way, but that's always stuck with me.

This is what makes it clear there’s a media agenda against us as opposed to just some negative stuff going on.

The Oliver trade to Geelong was clearly an attempt but it didn’t happen for a number of reasons, many will remain rumours forever as they relate specifically to what two or three people did or rumours about what they did and what they were feeling.

Instead of letting dead dogs lie, accepting it was something to report on and its over now they attempt to keep the story alive ALL YEAR in an attempt to make it more true in retrospect and to try to besmirch the people who shut the story down at the time, because it wasn’t happening and didn’t happen. It’s pathetic and seems to be aimed at our club more than most. Sam McClure knows this is nothing to do with the Geelong trade and that Clayton has had serious issues that it’s good he’s now putting his hand up when they overwhelm him. Instead of showing due sensitivity to him or even acknowledging the positive step for Clayton instead he uses it as an opportunity to air his story, again. Pathetic.

A certain nasty rumour which was aimed at our coach for the better part of four years and was apologised for, admitted got “out of hand” and wasn’t true in the end of of a certain court proceeding earlier this year is another example. The entire footy media knew it wasn’t true years ago, but they kept it out there, just to destabilise our club and undermine our coach. Hurting our ability as fans to enjoy one of the most successful and competitive periods in the clubs last fifty years. And now here we go again….

I used to love all footy media, even the really bad shows like the Sunday footy show and footy classified. Now I can’t watch any of them as if they’re not ripping us apart off field they’re implying nasty rumours that they will later use to rip us apart off field. Besides MFC’s actual games there is so little football media that is trustworthy or enjoyable for us as MFC fans. It’s all Collingwood and Hawthorn fluffing and small club bullying. How can that be a sustainable model?

id also like to point out the clear difference in treatment when clarry needs a week off vs harry mckay or oscar allen who didnt then get articles written about how theyre unhappy etc etc.

What really grinds my gears with this [censored] that Jay has written (and continues to perpetuate) is that he highlights how valuable a player Oliver would be for the cats and their push for a premiership, while in the same breath says that he'd need to be traded for a much lower price than Melb probably think he's worth. So which is it? Missing premiership puzzle piece or speculative trade bait not worth the money?

If he wants to leave and if there's really no animosity toward the club, I want to see him to opt take a significant pay cut, Geelong cover that and trade for what he's worth. You can't just sign a monster contract, then request a trade and expect the club to cover it while you play for someone else.

It’s not just us and Clarry they’re targeting at the moment, they’re also working overtime to get Harley Reid back to a Victorian club (not us obviously, they’ll be pushing the usual suspects).

But lets not spare the lowlifes who feed them from the shadows. If they are mfc people, from his management team or friends it is negligent, shameful and the ultimate betrayal.

They all have a duty of care and right now that care looks rather flimsy. People outside those groups have no business commenting on any player, especially if not from their club.

He was ok on the mid week tackle last year, but his work so far this year has been quite average. How he got the gig as Chief HS footy writer over Jon Ralph beggars belief.
