Agree.

Will McCreery and Crisp be looked at for dangerous tackles, I think not.

It’d be great if Crisp was rubbed out. He’s closing in on Jimma’s 244 record.

The AFL should quietly step in to ensure the Stynes legend isn’t diminished!

not much defending going on in this game

Yep, and it looks like it could be the Crows Kryptonite...

EFC have looked 2nd rate yet still manage to kick 100 points.

It's no coincidence that the flags dried up not long after the Salary Cap was introduced and they were no longer able to buy success.

May their misery and misfortune endure for at least another thirty years.

My bluebagger brother was bragging about all their flags until I pointed out that they bought them all; akin to boasting about getting lucky in a brothel.

Bomber fans misery continues , have no pity what they did to us in 2000 & smug supporters of the time

If the scum are do bad. How come they have kicked 100 points. Did Adelaide just relax

Six or seven strong interstate teams this year. Going to be a battle for the 8 and once again the possibility of few finals in Melbourne.

Don't think I could barrack for Hawthorn

Now is the time, he was certainly wasted last week

We struggle to score and have done since Rd 10 2022, people like to throw up all different stats to support their case or shoot down someone else’s. Stats can bugger off, we can’t score naturally with the exception of Kosi. Everything feels so programmed. I watched the Dogs last night move the footy, bugger me they were good. For all of Salem’s 30 odd touches last week he is the least damaging player. Some of the hawks / dogs kicks from their back 50 to a man in space which led to a goal or scoring opportunity. It’s frustrating, then I’ll cop from someone what if we won? I’d still feel the same about certain players and the way we play because I feel we could be so much better with some tweaking of the game plan. Or is it simply our game plan is what it is because our some of our players are limited. But then I think I don’t even know a third of the dogs / hawks but they’re well drilled.

We have a great chance of scoring well tomorrow. If we don’t the pressure will begin

Loved seeing an open free flowing game of footy at the MCG on a sunny Saturday afternoon, but annoyed Essendon were involved. The Crows looked very good through the middle, defense and up forward. But to concede 100 points shows glaring holes in the midfield defensive running. Other top teams will tear that to pieces so it is "watch-this-space" for me about the Crows.

I know it's MFCSS but those are the games I always dread, where we should win big but don't, or worse still, lose them!

this is going to be a shellacking for the tiges

Well it will be goodbye to the Coach very soon if that happens

Good teams win regularly

A lot of Salem’s possies come from the 20 metre to the Back Pocket kick outs, which then put us in a difficult 2nd kick possession. It stops run from the D50 as players further up the ground get manned up.

Always nice to read essendon fans comments after a loss. Aren't they rapt they gave Brad Scott another year

As much as i'd like to see them come back from the bleaches again and beat these pretenders, It's gonna be a long & painful year for the Toiges me thinks

Those young kids would have spent a lot of energy winning last week, and good luck to them. But the long grind will begin today

Ken might get re-signed for 10 years tonight

SEN will move over to Essenthing this week and Brad Scott’s extension

Cornes will be stoked he has venom to throw

Hope Blues fans are watching the Port game

Tigers would struggle in the VFL

Blitz is always a good read...

Just as well we postponed the Gold Coast game or we would be 3 zip.

Stop trying to win you are not good enough

This is pure Essington baby. Gonna be one hell of a year.

I wonder if the guy that delivered the horse manure at Richmond years ago is still around? We should recruit him!

There’s always a silver lining. At least we don’t have to worry about the post bye collapse, we are already there.

Jack watts was a better number 1 pick.

In fairness I've seen more effort put in by a teenager doing chores than essendon defending

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
