Trac, Chandler and sparrow were in the no touch fluro hats earlier but now are doing some kicking work with light pushing in the contest

Chandler appears to be in this group alot of late.  At least he was for long stints last season from what i saw and heard on here.

He’s recovering from an AC joint injury

Pretty sure I heard that Kingy is back on Friday morning SEN breakfast with Kane and is expected to give his opinion of all the clubs he’s visited during pre season.

I could be wrong but i thought this may have been the same or similar issue he was carrying through parts of last season?

Okay, idle speculation but I think Kentfield is off the list and one of the three train on will be selected in the draft.  My pick would be Roy George.

Roy George continues to impress.  Does some special things.  I was on his bandwagon at the end of last season but I am now.  He's got some special attributes.

Interesting but how would this work? To my knowledge he is not injured and is contracted for the year.

If he wanted to return home, a deal would be done.

With JVR, Disco, Jeffo, AJ, Fullarton, Petty, Fritta and probably Verrall as well, all ahead of him, he may have taken a pragmatic view and seen no future with us. Then again we could have instigated a discussion and he was agreeable.

We will find out the position soon enough, but given Ghosty and Slarti's vibes with him not training, nor attending a photo shoot or player's lunch, it is a very strong possibility.

Other observations. Sestan worked very well off half back, he's a very good kick. McAdam was a star in a lot of the drills.  If he stays fit we have something.  At one stage Windsor had the ball running to goal.  Lingers decided to run him down. Did manage it despite Duke going at 85%.  Windsor and Kossie, as Scoop said, stand out with their physical attributes.

I disagree with WW.  The match sims are not all that physical.  It's tackle with care and little contact in the air but Tmac might have a word with JvR.

Addition: had a long chat with Kingy, was really approachable and happy to talk.  He's a big fan of Windsor going back "because you don't get enough of the ball on the wing". He thought as a team we had the greatest highest and lowest variance.  He had a long chat to Trac, I love to know what he thinks now.

Luker Kentfield signed a contract extension at the end of last year. Would be surprised if he isn't on the list...

Correct. Signed a contract extension alongside Kynan Brown and AMW back in September last year.

I'm not going to jump to conclusions and say he's been delisted as of yet like some have already.

Clearly something has happened where perhaps the club has given him some sort of personal leave to deal with whatever is going on in his life.

I hope he is okay.

whats everyone's thoughts on Verrall?

im really not seeing too much in him as a ruck unfortunately, not really sure we have any other place for him as we have an abundance of talls

When they set up for the sims, Windsor starts off the half-back. They are really pushing high up the ground as forwards or backs. Meaning Caleb is forward of centre as they compact the contested area. The backs had TMac as the last man in one set up I saw, with May on his right side. The forwards had JVR as the last man who was loose on regular occasions, with the backs pushing past the 50 arc.

The wings had, Billings, Sharp, Woewodin and Lindsay most of the time. Langdon was in with the centre mids. Brown was set as a half-forward, as they started the sim,  then often working like a winger as Windsor did. Though not matched up with a player, so outnumbering the opposition's wingman.

I think it's a great idea getting Windsor running off half back.

Salem has not been quite as effective the last two years and without Gus, we need a fast rebounder who can get through the traffic and deliver well. He's the dude.

Verral is not quite there at the moment. Getting bullied in the ruck by Campbell, and Johnson seems a better forward. I like when he gets the ball in hand, as breaks lines because of strength and makes good decisions, but not getting it often enough. He is also good below his knees for a big. I haven't seen him take many pack marks or use his bulk to smash the pack. I believe we should stick with him, as may have more development. Would like to see him kick a few goals and to feed the mids with ruck taps in the Casey team this season.

Could he be a KPD? - other than Petty, our players are aging.

Yes. But why have 3 train ons if you’ve got no spots?  I haven’t seen him since Christmas but he may have been there.

He definitely wasn’t there today and hasn’t been since before Xmas.

Any chance that Luker could be in WA for family reasons?

That’s always a possibility as it is with any player but it’s been for a while now. I chat to Kolt a fair bit and oftentimes he talks about him and Luker living at Geoff Porz’s (how it’s working out etc.) but Kolt hasn’t mentioned anything about Luker for quite a while now, and there’s no way I’d ask him why that’s so. I just sincerely hope Luker’s ok. He’s just a kid really.

This is broadly more around the mark from what I’ve heard (admittedly, second-hand). I suspect more will come to the forefront regarding the situation soon.

Yes, that’s a thought I’ve had in the meantime…is it possible that he’s suffering from, as much as I don’t like the term for reasons unknown to me, a mental illness? In which case would the club put him on the long term injury list so that he has the option of returning when ready, or alternatively, could he be considering walking away from footy?

Whilst nice that iPad-Dave is saying some nicer things about us for a change, never forget that his assessment of Collingwood after witnessing 1 x pre-season training session last year was “I can’t see any other side getting near them this year”… They missed the finals.

Let's not speculate anything at this stage!

TBF the level of speculation aimed at Clarry or Trac was immense compared to a comment that he hasn’t been back to training so perhaps he’s quit the club…

I don’t think Johnson is ever going to be a high possession player, that’s not his role. He needs to relieve the pressure from our other forwards and Max. He needs to run hard, compete hard and hit packs with a real ferocity. This is why we got him, these are the things that Jefferson doesn’t appear ready to do.

Jumped to conclusions?  Give me a break. How does idle speculation represent jumping to conclusions?

Of course I hope Luker is okay, I wish him well, but one possible explanation for his absence, for whatever reason and I’m not speculating that reason, is he won’t be on our list going forward.

The things we know are that he hasn’t been at training for weeks at a critical time of the year for a young player, we have three train on players with no list spots available (why would we be showcasing players to other clubs if we had an interest in them) and he’s probably behind JvR, Turner, Johnson, Petty and Jefferson for a KF position.

Please don’t attribute things to me that are false. I fully accept that I might be way off the mark here but my suggestion is a possible explanation of what we know.

  • GAMEDAY: Geelong

It's Game Day, and reinforcements are finally arriving for the Demons—but will it be too little, too late? They're heading down the freeway to face a Cats side returning home to their fortress after two straight losses, desperate to reignite their own season. Can the Demons breathe new life into their campaign, or will it slip even further from their grasp?

  • PREVIEW: Geelong

"It's officially time for some alarm bells. I'm concerned about the lack of impact from their best players." This comment about one of the teams contesting this Friday night’s game came earlier in the week from a so-called expert radio commentator by the name of Kane Cornes. He wasn’t referring to the Melbourne Football Club but rather, this week’s home side, Geelong. The Cats are purring along with 1 win and 2 defeats and a percentage of 126.2 (courtesy of a big win at GMHBA Stadium in Round 1 vs Fremantle) which is one win more than Melbourne and double the percentage so I guess that, in the case of the Demons, its not just alarm bells, but distress signals. But don’t rely on me. Listen to Cornes who said this week about Melbourne:- “They can’t run. If you can’t run at speed and get out of the contest then you’re in trouble.

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit.
Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

For a brief period of time in the early afternoon of yesterday, the Casey Demons occupied top place on the Smithy’s VFL table. This was only made possible by virtue of the fact that the team was the only one in this crazy competition to have played twice and it’s 1½ wins gave it an unassailable lead on the other 20 teams, some of who had yet to play a game.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

In my all-time nightmare game, the team is so ill-disciplined that it concedes its first two goals with the courtesy of not one, but two, fifty metre penalties while opening its own scoring with four behinds in a row and losing a talented youngster with good decision-making skills and a lethal left foot kick, subbed off in the first quarter with what looks like a bad knee injury.
