Tough for them to name an accurate ETA for the type of injury he's got, the fact is come down 4 weeks is positive and almost surprising, I expected to see him hit with the dreaded TBC

Stress reactions are pretty common, clubs have a good guide on how long they take. The big issue is heโ€™s done the easy part of the rehab - sitting around doing non or low weight bearing stuff. The next month as he builds back up to full loads is the time where things could be really straightforward or face set backs.

Sounds pretty tough to get an ETA on

Cal Twomey says Culleyโ€™s out for 4-6 with bone stress in his foot (canโ€™t embed the Tweet).

Is this new or has the club already announced this and I missed it?

Havenโ€™t seen anything from the club.
It was mentioned he was in a moonboot in a training thread from last week. Was suggested the moonboot was a precaution.

Given that Spargo played in Saturdayโ€™s match simulation, and assuming he pulled up ok (does anyone know?), why would he still be listed as TBC on that injury list? ย Surely if heโ€™s now in full training, they must have some idea of a time frame.

I don't trust the AFL list for accuracy personally... waiting for the Selwyn update

While there is โ€˜onlyโ€™ 3 players on the list who would be considered top 23 players - Pickett, McVee and Tholstrup - we have roughly a quarter of our list (10) who are unavailable for Rnd 1. Thatโ€™s not ideal.ย

Poor Jai. Turns out it wasnโ€™t a minor foot thing after all ๐Ÿ™

Itโ€™s new. Last week he said he thought it was a minor issue. He also said theyโ€™d only just put him in the moonboot that morning but it was only precautionary. Heโ€™d be gutted ๐Ÿ™

I'd have Spargo in my 23 if he's fit...

So we replace a LTI with another LTI! Classic

I would suggest orthotic insoles for Jai Culley in his football boots.

I wore them in my football boots as another level of protection against having any bone stress in my feet.

However, I am sure Selwyn Griffith and the Demons medical team know alot more than I do.

Kolt ahead of schedule it seems.

AFL website says 6-8

I would have thought this would have been standard for every afl player

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourneย captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles atย Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckmanโ€™s masterclass in the second half.ย  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipperโ€™s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, aย career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested),ย nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.ย

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win โ€” something they havenโ€™t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, theyโ€™ll need to exorcise the Demons of last yearโ€™s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
