Great to see Trac back and firing. Oliver was the reason we finished so low this year. He's now fit and firing. I'm calling it now we will make the 8 maybe even top 4. Can't wait for the season to start.

Agree Werridee I have 2020 vibes around a 2025 season comeback like 2021.

Refer to my Prelim Final team in your posting for Round 1 with about 4/5 changes. That’s got to happen IMO and I would include Lindsay after seeing his highlights and JT’s wrap on him.

He may be on a wing or HB flank like Hayden Young was in his first year. Also I believe The Duke should moved to the centre to straighten us up on occasions as well as kick 15/20 goals as he develops.

Bowey could also as mooted in the track reports could also be in the wing mix which would be good I believe. Even Half forward is not out of the question. Also AMW could be HF like he was at Casey.

I'm much more inclined to agree with @WERRIDEE.  We haven't lost a game for three months!

Everyone's writing us off. Media, betting agencies, fans, the lot. Everyone except us. Suits me i say

Looks like Trac is being attacked by a pair of aggressive poodles - did anyone jump in to help the poor bloke??

Fantastic photo with two colts attacking our No 1 Champ together Great example for all players in 2025.

Wow, those kids are just never going to get over the ‘saga’ are they….

I haven't read where Oliver has come back fit. I've read how he has had some Clarry type possessions. But I can see posters referring to him as being fit and firing. Can anyone elaborate on his fitness?

He's carrying a few extra kilos. Presumably he will have slimmed down a little by R1.

To be honest I know it is only early days but Clayton is looking happier and more playful than he has been these past two years. It’s already been commented on but he looks injury free he is picking the ball up and handballing like he is renowned for, apart from a few blisters I don’t think he is far off his best. Mind you this is what I have gleaned from training reports and those Special Comments.😁😁

I tell you who will be on the bottom 2 it will be Essendon. Only Richmond below them. I can't see Essendon improving when you consider that North, West Coast, Melbourne, Gold Coast and St.Kilda should improve. I see them certain bottom 2 maybe bottom 3 with West Coast.

One more from GW:

Another DL regular and I had a long chat with Trac.  He was honest and spoke with passion. We would periodically say "We don't wanna hold you up", etc, but he pretty much vented the whole time and we just listened.  Not gonna elaborate but he's a changed person.  Even he says he is.

I think it’s safe to say this never happened

Why would you say that? I think it’s safe to say that you have no idea if it happened or not. But a pretty demeaning post - no wonder she feels better off not being part of DL anymore. The poster also stated that there was another regular DLander present for this event. So a witness to corroborate.

I notice you didn’t have the guts to doubt it when other posters have said the same thing.

I assume so.

On the "new", net post and I think the lights, there are cameras permanently fitted. Put in during the Gosch's upgrade.

They used to put drones up, but I think we are covered by the cameras, as I have not seen a drone.

There are also plenty of Tech staff at the computer, dealing the trackers out to the players, and other "stuff".

And you are despicable. I've had absolutely enough of the posters who disparage WCW/GW - it is beneath contempt. And moderators: how do you allow this?

Nah.

The mods knew what they were doing and did a fine job. You can actually have an opinion on here now without being constantly attacked for or put down because it didn't suit that particular person's narrative.

Happy days.

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.

Just a game and percentage outside the Top 8, the Demons return to Melbourne to face the Sydney Swans at the MCG, with a golden opportunity to build on the momentum from toppling the reigning premiers on their own turf. Who comes in, and who makes way?
