Oliver met with Geelong.

Geelong asked the question.

Melbourne asked for three first rounders and told them we won't budge on that.

Geelong said they won't/can't do that.

Subject closed.

For McClure et al to bang on about clearing his Dees locker and choosing his number at the Cats is pure BS.

too many afl journalists have gotten ahead of themselves, and see themselves as king makers

but they are just egocentric scribblers addicted and deluded by the allure of the click

they are all fwits. And the managers seem even worse. Toxic cycle of gullable young footballers unwittingly fuelling the mess.

He said it to camera on Channel 7.

Still wasting your time Wilmoy how many times are you refusing to believe what Clarry said. All that matters now is he is on board and getting raring  to go. Let it rest. As KD said he said it on Nat TV Ch 7 last Saturday at the races when interviewed. Other footballers were on the same program from Ch 7 obviously invited to attend on the day.

That particular part of the story drove me nuts the most, it was the most hyperbolic BS ever and attempted to make it out that his position at the club was untenable.

I would genuinely like to know from the reporters/journo's of the AFL media, why is it that when there are certain players that have clearly been struggling with mental health issues that they back off, and others that are in the same camp they do everything to make them from page news.

It was the same issue that I had with the reporting on Petracca, I get the drama was juicy but we're dealing with a young bloke who suffered a traumatic injury and was told he almost died. Give it a bloody rest!

Did anything precipitate Oliver meeting with Geelong?

That interview was selectively edited to give answers to the particular questions that this scumbag wanted answered. .Oliver was bailed up in the course of his weekend off  and he would have thought that this would be a sincere recording with truthful motives. As per usual the media have attempted to break up the peace and harmony of Australia's best morally ethical club.

One would assume so but all my info on this comes from the Geelong side so I don't know the intricacies of that.

Yeah I don't participate in this anymore. I get that these forums are meant for the overly dramatic types but some of the infighting these days on here is getting to Carlton/Filth territory.

Why go in it then?

We obviously have the best players and the best standards of all the clubs, just like the Coach said.

And as you say willmoy, we set the highest standards, and are not fooled by fake doctored interviews and false platitudes.

Yeah but they’re not real journos - they are the kind that the joke about the nun buying a donkey ridicule. The one with the final punchline in the paper, “nun sells [censored] for $10”.

The autocensor has gone right over the woke top - the word presumably censored, I will try a55, has been used to describe a donkey for thousands of years, including multiple mentions in biblical texts.  According to a google search over 60 references to the beast.

The woke are certainly making donkeys of themselves.

I couldn't used the common abbreviation of Richard on several occasions even though it was capitalised and is widely used.  Making themselves Richards over this one too.

What next?  Demon may be taken as satanic so maybe eventually we won't  be able to use that either?

I reckon the censor is actually fascist.

I mean, it's right there in the name - auto censor.

As in Autocratic Censor.

Wake up people. Do your own research.

I thought it was related to indigenous smoking ceremonies.

As in, an autochthonous censer.

Everything I’ve heard from Clayton makes me think he’s going to have a break out year. What that means for a 3xAA I’m not sure. Might put a couple of $ on him for Chas.

What have ou heard Stu?

Just what he’s been saying in any interviews - training hard, disappointed with last year, going to get MFC back up the ladder. Seems very focused and more serious than usual.

How could Geelong do this?

Didn't the Geelong interest predate the club gauging interest from others?

exactly . Just not the story that gets clicks.

Intersting with Bailey Smith they spent so much time getting him over too. So, by the time it came  to “trade” him everyone knows he’s going to Geelong and the cats give v little to get him. That’s their playbook.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
