Potentially why we have the late pick available to match a bid. If it comes too early then so be it.

Let's just hope it's not a popular rag with the common folk.

Especially so at Carringbush, out Moonee Ponds way or beyond the Port Jackson hinterlands.

Just noticed that Sam Marshall is Brisbane academy despite playing for Sandy Dragons. That seems a bit on the nose for me and contradicts the reasons for the academy.

It looks to me a policy of Brisbane's, to send their good NGA members down to Vic for their football schooling.

Pub test failed!

Whatโ€™s the feeling on whether Andrew will be selected by another club, so we have to match and use our last list spot/pick, or whether he gets through and we can rookie him?

to be honest i'm half expecting him to slide throughย

talls simply don't seem to have the premium placed upon them that they did as recently as three, four years ago

Not a surprise, club never were really linked with him. A fraction undersized and doesnโ€™t kick well. That said, cost was basically the last pick in the draft. But we donโ€™t seem to be a club that turns over the list these days.ย

Well, I donโ€™t know how to riak to this

The club we gave Grundy to.ย

Hope they have a good FA we can take from them next year.

They seemed shocked we didnโ€™t match, didnโ€™t see a single smile from their group.

Dunno y we wouldnโ€™t take him the cost was minimal and we have the list spots, we all seen what he brother can do why make the same mistake twice

Maybe we just rate players better then him?

No biggie.

We werenโ€™t even able to make a mistake with Mac. But given half the chance we would have found a way

ah well, if we really wanted him, we would have made it happen.

ย

would have been nice to slide through as a rookie

We donโ€™t have the list spots, our third pick is all we have and clearly they wanted other players.

Its not like we donโ€™t have young kids developing but we do seem to hang on to guys as well as paying the price for top ups that so far havenโ€™t worked.

Im not even sure if we wanted Riak as cat B which does seem wild because he has more upside than Mentha IMO.ย

Who is Riaj Andrews

said so in the johnson thread, but im truly gutted by this, its non-commital by the club and is going against the youthful processes we've been on for some time now. theres just so many ways this ends badly for us, watching mac flourish, ourselves getting destroyed by aliir playing against the swans in the past. i think his athletic potential once in the pro systems, he's gonna make us look so silly

Disappointed....but I have faith in Jason Taylor's decision.

I think there's another two younger Andrew brothers anyway?

ย Paul Amy on X is reporting that Deng Andrew, brother of Mac and Riak, is fighting for a place on the Northern Bullants list. A long way from Casey.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chancesโ€”plenty of themโ€”but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Portโ€™s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmyโ€™s inclusive bannerโ€”"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwoodโ€™s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.ย

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
