You had me at Essendon in disarray.....

Let's not spoil that ;)

Sounds like Springfield has a discipline problem

They can't even (b)eat the cats.

Some of you have such a chip on your shoulder. Who cares about Essendon? They've been a basketcase for 20 years.

Apologies. I forgot to mention that it has to be an independent review headed by someone commanding great respect in the football world like Steven Dank.

Shane Charters heading up the high performance side?

If you do your research you can find one of the associates linked to them. If I was the AFL and Bombers I'd be concerned too.

The lid’s off at Bomberland in this expose by the Herald Sun chief football writer - AFL Integrity warns Essendon over Nick Hind and Jake Stringer’s associates.

The team which hasn’t won a final for two decades had one of the easiest fixtures in the competition but meekly fell out of finals contention after riding high in mid season.

Now, Robinson reports that AFL Integrity has warned the Bombers to be vigilant over who they allow into their change rooms after concerns raised about players' associates.

“It's believed the Bombers were warned to be aware of a group of associates of recently delisted Bomber Nick Hind, who is known to have a shared friendship group with teammate Jake Stringer.

“It's believed the associates regularly attend Essendon matches and were seen in the Bombers' rooms more than once this season.”

The implication from the article is that the “associates” are possibly gangland figures as Robinson mentions the situation in 2013 when Richmond's Jake King was advised to not bring bikie underworld figure Toby Mitchell into their rooms after a match.

The culture at Bomberland is rotten. We still haven’t forgotten the doping scandal that wracked the club a decade ago or the fiasco when Andrew Thorburn was forced to quit as Essendon CEO just one day after stepping into the role.

There must be a review of that club’s operations which indicate clear cultural deficiencies at that club.

Heads must roll. 😀

I'm sure they'll find some way to blame Melbourne for this....

That's not an accurate assessment of the situation or Thorburn's character. You should consider deleting your post.

2 September 2000 and 25 April 1992 have left scars.

Genuine question. How would you characterise it?

This - I'm still traumatized 25 years later.

He is currently head of the board of said, City on a Hill. The church isn't right wing, it is just a church like other churches.

He didn't write an article as you have mentioned.

He hasn't given any sermons.

No worries, you can leave your post but, I think it's quite ironic you are willing to character assassinate someone for something you don't seem to know much about and have listed factually incorrect information.

Just because you don't want to admit it's true, it doesn't mean it's not true, given it is on public record.

Indeed    a very deep hatred.   But I do feel sorry for them,    NOT !!

The good thing is their list is not in great shape. I was worried they nailed the draft a couple of years ago but Cox and Perkins etc. haven’t come on yet

With Stringer Merrett etc all getting on they are in trouble. They need to stop trading in duds like Gresham

Agree, absolutely pathetic.

I asked an 'ethical' AI search engine about Church on the Hill. It came back with this as the top result. I think the robots are getting a bit too clever now.

I watched the Roaming Brian that started all this. Hind really has no chill. Might as well have introduced the guy as his gangland mate.

The Demons return to Casey Fields (aka the Field of Dreams) this Saturday to host the Saints in Round 2. If you’re feeling lucky, head down the Monash for some family-friendly footy—you might even walk away a winner. The first 5,000 adults through the gate will receive an entry into the $10,000 helicopter ball drop. With Casey’s infamous wind, what could possibly go wrong? Closest ball to the pin wins. So spread the word, get down there—and good luck!

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.
