We used to recruit players that could run but simply could not kick. They would just run around all day on the field while we got flogged.

jack steven was a former aints skipper who had a slew of off-field issues, including being stabbed in the chest shortly after the trade to the puddy tatts was completed

he didn't even complete a full season down in sleepy hollow and retired at the end of his first season with a year to go on his contract

No chance to get him (will go Cats 100% - why would he come to us? He's guaranteed a prelim next year with the cats, probably, and media pressure/scrutiny and drama/who knows what kind of performance with us), but it's fine, don't want him anyway, he's not the kind of guy we need to lift us next year - we need leaders who play a reliable brand of footy and can inspire others to do the same.

Wasn't he caught binging at the local TAB/Pub day after day while he was suppose to be in rehab as well?

sounds like the sort of thing he would do

his fall from skipper to the slums was super sad

He's an A grade midfielder (former number 8 pick) that is about to enter his prime.

We are losing our only runner and we are already slow. He instantly makes us better.

People saying we should go get MacRae surely are not serious when there is a player of this calibre also on the table. Why settle for MacRae. Go and get the cream of the crop Melbourne

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
