He signed yesterday, announced today.

I'll take it.

I think you really went out on a limb. Well done. We'll expect some more inside gossip as it comes to light.

Thinking of all those little Dees fans with #36 on their jumpers, not least of all @dazzledavey36 ’s little fellah whose dad doesn’t have to tell him news that would break his little heart ♥️💙

THANK YOU KOZZIE!

This means so much to us, in so many ways.

Thinking of all the big Dees fans who shed a tear this morning too

Awkward Season 4 GIF by The Office

Only 23 years of age and is doing this that is out of this world.

Is already ahead of Petracca at the exact same age.

Scary times ahead.

Deciding factor ... other club colours would never have suited Kozzie.

[censored] off Brayshaw. God this kind of stuff is unseemly. It’s January and he’s contracted for 3 more seasons.

Just clicked on this thread to see the reaction to kozzie's news and saw this - how funny that Freo were having a go at us for talking about Luke Jackson!

All good reasons and admittedly some weren't the first considerations when I heard about this initially.

The contract landscape is changing and so are club's methods. I'm all for flexibility with moving money around to other parts of the deal.

I do wonder how much more leverage you get with more years and if benefits are offset by larger remaining parts on contracts and clubs not as willing to take it on but that's like balancing the best way to pay off your mortgage and not worth wasting the brain power on.

Ultimately I'm very happy.

Another point to consider- when you are sitting down with Langford and Lindsay and saying "guys here is a 5 year extension" and they are looking around at our best players thinking they won't even be here in 5 years, they can now look around say well I've got Kosi with me. We can be a special midfield for the foreseeable future.

Just look at the reaction of our players to this news on social media. Harvey Langford has already reposted the signing on his story.

And besides, how often do players the calibre of Kosi even become available, and what chance would we as a small homeless club have to secure their services?

I wonder if people would think twice about offering this type of deal to Butters for example.

I’m rounding the straight as we speak 😅

On a personal level, this means Ardu wasn’t [censored] in my pocket. I never doubted what she said until folks on here said why believe what a player’s partner tells a fan rather than what a journalist reports, ect. and that made me start to wonder if she was just saying what I wanted to hear. Had that been the case, especially disappointing would’ve been the last time we spoke (prematch in Perth, a month ago) when she said, “You’ll get to see Bellanie grow up.”

Welp, seems I’ll get to see Bellanie grow up ‘til at least her 11th birthday 🥳

Just now, whatwhat say what said:

she'll be joining the david neitz academy by then

… with her siblings not far behind 🤩

Your next project: start telling Ardu how nice a little brother, or 3, would be for little Bellanie

Pickett junior playing next to Davey junior would complete my life.

Went out on a limb? Pfft. It’s easy to say Koz signed yesterday today, now that it’s official. Going out on a limb would’ve been to say the same 24 hours ago.

There is a wonderful GOD. And she is merciful. Can she see a say we win this weekend I don’t know !

Yep, I reckon having that bloke running into space would just lift you as a player.

The last few weeks I've been rewinding and watching his impeccable timing at running to forward contests as the ball spills to the ground. He just hits the space with so much pace and snavels that ball up so cleanly.

Fritsch just thumped his handball over his shoulder into clear space late in the game on Monday and Kozzy just swooped and delivered.

Looking forward to many more rewinds.

9 more years of Kozzie is priceless. The kind of bloke you can build the club around on and off the field.

Thank you Koz

On that money & deal I'm expecting him now to step up more & he must be kicking at least a couple of goals each week & his defensive pressure has to get better.

That has improved over the past few weeks but at times he still jogs around & can look for the easy handball over the top.

However now I'm just glad the trade speculation will stop.

Hope he has a ripping game this week.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
