He'll definitely leave at some point and I have no doubt about that.

Whether if that's the end of this year or when he's contract runs out, either way, we'll be fairly compensate if the right deal is there that suits us.

Given he’s contracted to 2027, the West Australian are getting waaaaaay ahead of themselves.

I do doubt that Kozzy will be a one-club player but we aren’t trading him at the end of 2025 with 2 years to go. Look at Harry Petty, things can change quickly.

At the earliest, we could use him in a trade for Harley Reid when he comes back to Melbourne in 2 years. But only if he reeaaaally wants to go west. No way we trade him this year.

Did his manager say this?

Because a manager is always a beacon of truth and speaks for the benefit of ‘fans’ and not his client, yeah?

Media maggot garbage again, and all because of an incorrect reporting in the previous year when a Captain of an AFL side feigned injury, and caused an interrupted start to this season.

I was just asking. Calm down haha no need to melt.

Who said it?

Win games and all this nonsense goes away quickly, Kossie stays happy as does Trac and co.

You can still win games and be happy at the same time and leave all at the same time. Just ask Alex Neale Bullen.

He clearly he wants to be around more extended family and me personally have no issues with at all even though he is my favourite player on the list and someone that gets me more excited since Jurrah, Farmer and Davey.

If he leaves and we get great compensation then that’s footy. We hold the upper hand over the next 2 seasons and if we can get George on the list who knows.

Sources…!?!?! What a vague click bait article.

Haven’t you heard about journalism now? You don’t need to name a source, as long as you put the word in your article

There is no doubt that Kozzie would like to play his footy in WA and that Freo are aware of this. A trade request was close this year so I’d said it’s likely next year.

Kozzie is super close with Roy George. They’re essentially related so it will be interesting to see if his presence at the club helps.

“No doubt” ????? As a famous ranga fish n chip shop owner once said ploise explain

Roy is Kozzie’s biological uncle. They’re super close as you say. But in terms of teammates it’s Ricky Mentha who will figure largely in Kozzie’s decision to stay with us, IMHO

Oh and you are a beacon of truth, yeah?

The amount of opinion stated as fact in this thread is ridiculous, even for Demonland standards.  This story has been swirling around since he joined the club and he hasn't gone anywhere.  And as yet, there has never been a credible source given for the remours.

Given he spent the Christmas break in NZ, not in WA or SA, he doesn't seem desperately homesick to me.

I for one am already looking forward to the Fremantle 2026 death ride when we hold their future first round pick

Let’s hope the sequel is just as good as the original

He told those close to him that he’d like to play his footy in front of his family with the Dockers in WA. I’d rather not divulge anymore if that’s ok.

This is impossible - he was traded to Port Adelaide two years ago!

2026 and 2027 future 1sts, thanks - teams can trade two years in advance as of the end of this year, i believe, and while i don't think he'll be leaving to flagmantle at the end of the season, that'd be my opening requirement

at a minimum

i don't think it's too surprising that he might want to do this, but there's a lot of obstacles in the way to make it happen

And if he does go to WA, one silver lining will be Kane having a cry over it 😁

Firstly I know nothing, but the article is likely a management tactic to put a stake in the ground. Plenty of time for the two clubs to start putting together a deal that will satisfy all parties. Gives Freo plenty of time to work on other deals / contracts to find the cap space and picks to make it happen. If however they are into Warner, it’s really hard to see how that gets done.

If Kozzy asked for a trade end of last season (or was contemplating it ) it wouldn’t be  far fetched that we asked for another year given what was going on and also a chance to convince him to stay.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
