I’ll preface to say I am a Tottenham fan, but to quote CR7:

“Love makes me strong. Your hate makes me unstoppable”

About time this fanbase and club grow up a bit. Who gives a [censored] if we are hated? Does that deter Collingwood? Whether people like it or not, the Houston u-turn isn’t a good look.

I am no fans of them, but this is why I admire the likes of Djokovic and Ronaldo a lot. They turn negative press into muesli bars and eat them for breakfast, whilst putting out elite performances with each and every tennis/football/soccer match. They embrace the hatred.

Caufield Cup Day

Another article on Clayton

Oliver opens up on failed trade, Petracca, Demons

My favourite quotes

Clayton Oliver plans to make up for what he called “a stinker” of a season, saying he is determined to help drive Melbourne back to the finals again in 2025.

“We’re good, we’re all sweet,” Oliver said of his relationship with Melbourne.

(This year) ‘Gussy’ (Angus Brayshaw) retired, we had ‘Trac’ injured, I had a stinker of a year and ‘Maysey’ (Steven May) was a little bit off.”

Oliver said he had been in regular communication with Christian Petracca,

“But Melbourne are looking good. We will have a big year.

I would go as far as saying that at least 80% of the AFL media really hate the Melbourne Football Club.

I can't even explain why?!

We win a Premiership after a 57 year drought. We also haven't been known as an arrogant Club since the 1950s and 1960s. If anything we have been a small humble Club that has strived to become bigger and stronger again.

Yet the resentment towards us remains?

I could probably write down a long list of viscious Melbourne haters in the media.

Sad but true unfortunately!

It has always seemed strange. You'd think our performances over the last however many decades would just make us irrelevant...but outsiders do seem to hate us. Maybe it's because we are a bit whingy as a football club. There is always a reason or an excuse as to why we fail. A bit like the England cricket team who generally puff their chest out and go alright when things line up for them but go to water when the real heat comes. It's hard to respect sports teams like that.

I thought I read somewhere that Pert at some stage recently said about how one thing he can always do is control the media narrative. Maybe that got a few backs up and has us in the gun at the moment.

End of the day, the fans are all a bit fired up and would love to shut these nuffs up the only way you really can...and that is by winning. But unfortunately that means diddley squat unless the playing group shares the sentiment (and I mean really shares the sentiment, doesn't just say they share it).

The best thing happened that could have happened. The Media screwed themselves.

Far be it from me to kick them when they are down, but i think they have made fools of themselves for what was such a prestigious body of sports knowledge and respect. It does appear as though they are more circumspect of GWS and their outbreak based on the simple principle of hasten carefully.

Basically from my point of view i would like an apology sent to Our Club, and to those maligned players individually. Has it ever been done? Probably not. But it would be a good start.

The media will never apologise.

I think it is up to us as Melbourne supporters to either call in to radio shows like SEN or Triple M to call the journalists out.  Otherwise, just ignore them all together. But that's easier said than done.

The bigger problem is we are seen as a "weak" football club. Especially as we let Collingwood bully us. We lost a lot of respect from the broader AFL community after that. Until the Demons learn to fight back we will continue to be walked all over and ridiculed.

Anyone else sick of Michael Warner’s style of agenda journalism and the way he’s gloating today about so-called arrogance from the MFC.

Pot. Kettle. Black.

My mother used to say a half truth is worse than a lie.

There’s a lot of that in the media these days.

Yesterday, Michael Warner boldly stated in the Herald Sun:-

“At least four of Smith's Melbourne teammates have been sweating on the outcome of the trafficking probe.”

Today, he opened his article on Smith’s suspension by the AFL with the following paragraph:

“Melbourne players who received text messages from Melbourne suspended teammate Joel Smith regarding cocaine will not be penalised.”

It took eight months which included the course of an entire 2024 season for the SIA investigators to clear Smith’s 43 club mates of being users of a prohibited substance.

Thanks for the headline Mick.

Could it be any more clear that Barrett has affiliations with those that are trying to take the Club down!

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
