In true 'Demonland' speak "you don't have to read the threads that upset you".

I think a good policy is to ignore Demonland's posts of cross-media content unless commenting on the actual content itself, and even then to be careful because generally what Andy posts in that space is for information purposes not an endorsement of the content itself or even an invitation to view it.

I posted that I don't care about what the media has to say, which is not really commenting on the content but on my lack of interest in the content. Won't be doing that again, at least not in response to Andy's posts.

'Demonland' is JD Vance using a pseudonym.

Just stop! Stop turning on Andy. You wouldn’t last a day running this site. He has a hard enough time as it is without having to contend with your nonsensical jibes. He runs this site while juggling a family, a full time job and interests other than footy. And he runs it at a loss, ie. much of the running costs are out of his own pocket for OUR enjoyment.

Incidentally, Andy posts media articles for our information and they usually get conversations started. That’s what an online forum is all about.

PS it would be nice for folks to donate to the costs of running Demonland. Just sayin’

Could be a player manager or multiple player managers who are a bit chirpy

I remember when Roos was asked about what the problems at Melbourne were (not long after he landed at the club in 2013) and he made mention that the player managers were quite influential (or words to that effect)

Wasn't exactly ground breaking stuff and the comments were quite quickly dismissed back then but Roos' comments always stuck with me

That's an interesting comment by Roos, I haven't heard that before. Any ideas on what he meant more specifically?

You make some fair points. My argument is though that he earlier today asked us all not post 'unsubstantiated rumours' etc. This is 35 pages of them. Not one scrap of evidence that any of this is factual. Also, to refer to 9 News as 'actual news' is laughable. It stopped being news years ago. Nothing but editorialising no more so than in sports stories.

Do you love everyone you work with? God I really don't 😁

I only employ people I like to work with

I imagine some leave because they don't like others in the team or even me!!( impossible I know)

We know not all players" get on" but in this case maybe Trac is peesed at how many of the list are bog ordinary and how many don't seem to work hard enough to improve ...team culture rather than individuals .

Just a thought...there's something wrong at the  club.

I think it's the FD but apparently not for Trac

I had a thought recently, in light of Houston rethinking his interest in coming to Melbourne.
Given Petracca is reportedly not happy with the "direction" of the club, I wonder if he might be interested in trying to help lure Houston to come to us.

It would give him some agency in changing the direction of the club (if that's really a thing, again we're just going on as-yet unfounded media reporting), and may be a good way to convince Houston that there isn't, in fact, a problem at Melbourne.

Name calling again. Goodonya champ. He censors plenty here at whim, most of it fairly tepid. Double standards.

I take care to censor content that might lead to legal issues or problems for myself and other posters. However, I acknowledge that I can sometimes be overly cautious or, on the contrary, might overlook something important. My decisions aren't always perfect.

The information I share comes from publicly available sources, primarily mainstream news organizations. Whether or not you choose to believe these reports is entirely up to you. I'm not endorsing or advocating for any particular viewpoint; my goal is simply to provide our community with all the relevant information that's being reported or discussed in the media.

It's not necessary for anyone to act as a gatekeeper regarding what I choose to post. You have the freedom to ignore individual posts or entire threads if you wish.

If a particular topic is upsetting to you, I kindly ask that you refrain from reading the thread and avoid attempts to "shame" me for sharing information that I consider important, especially about a club that I care deeply about. I am invested both financially and emotionally to this club as are a lot of Demonlanders.

Of course, I would prefer to post only positive, joyful topics. Unfortunately, we're dealing with a challenging situation, and people naturally want to stay informed about what's happening.

Earlier in the preseason, we faced serious issues that I wanted to be able discuss openly. However, due to the potential for significant legal ramifications, it was decided that such discussions would be shut down.

Currently, the situation we're facing is different.

Just because we may feel uncomfortable about the possibility of losing a generational talent who might be unhappy with the club’s direction doesn’t mean we should avoid the topic. I believe we can have meaningful & respectful discussion about this issue while providing real-time updates and continuing our conversations about the club we all care about.

We will of course monitor the discourse and if it crosses the lines or people post things that are potentially harmful we will of course moderate accordingly.

My intention is not to upset anyone but to keep our community informed. If these discussions make you uncomfortable, I encourage you to steer clear of those threads.

Thanks for the rebuke. This coming from someone who is praying for Jack Crisp to get injured in order not to break a record. Doesn't get much lower than that. If someone posted the same hoping a Melbourne player sustain an  injury you'd be the first to be outraged. Disgusting.

I don't know but it was not impactful at all and quickly forgotten

You have to remember that the club was in real disarray before PJ took over with Roos following not long after

So the question was posed to Roos about what was wrong at the club or what his take was (words to that effect) and Roos just straight batted the player manager influence

So that was it.  Roos & PJ then went to work rebuilding the club

That's how I remember it but again, I always remembered the player manager comment

As an aside, I've got a Tiger mate who went to their B & F* in 2017 (Premiership year) and he was really annoyed that he didn't get to chat with one player.  He told me that the player managers were front & centre and formed some sort of barrier between the players & public attendees

*Tickets were upwards of $300 a pop

You make this sound like a bad thing. 😜

I’ll double down on it, too. Same goes for wishing a career-ending injury to Maynard. I have perfectly good reasons for feeling this way.

This of course has nothing to do with you taking Andy to task over the way he runs this site but whatever.

Do you know how a Newsroom works, have you ever worked in a Newsroom??

Tracc was “quoted” in the original story by Morris and this quote hasn’t been refuted by Tracc or his management. This means that there is some truth to it. He is [censored] off at certain elements of the Club, and either he or his management have put it out there, to stir the pot.
And that is exactly what it has done, nothing more or nothing less.
There is no way, even Tom Morris would put out a straight out lie. Legally he would be in Hot Water

Yeah, he's my mechanic as well so money is not really an issue, BoBo haha

But the way he described the partition type wall separation the players with the player managers forming that barrier, was a real eye-opener

Needless to say, he hasn't been to another B & F

“Players running their own agenda” is the best quote I’ve seen on this whole issue. Lewis knows exactly what’s going on and the poor way the Petracca stuff has been leaked.

    GETAWAY by Meggs

Calling all fit players. Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin cross-continent flight to Perth for this Round 4 clash on Saturday afternoon at Fremantle Oval. It promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies clear favourite.  If we lose, finals could be remoter than Rottnest Island especially following on from the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday.  There are 8 remaining matches, over the next 7 weeks.  To Meggs’

    DRUBBING by Meggs

With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    GARNER STRENGTH by Meggs

In keeping with our tough draw theme, Week 3 sees Melbourne take on flag favourites, North Melbourne, at Casey Fields this Sunday at 1:05pm.  The weather forecast looks dry, a coolish 14 degrees and will be characteristically gusty.  Remember when Casey Fields was considered our fortress?  The Demons have lost two of their past three matches at the Field of Dreams, so opposition teams commute down the Princes Highway with more optimism these days.  The Dees held the highe

    ALLY’S FIELDS by Meggs

It was a sunny morning at Casey Fields, as Demon supporters young and old formed a guard of honour for fan favourite and 50-gamer Alyssa Bannan.  Banno’s banner stated the speedster was the ‘fastest 50 games’ by an AFLW player ever.   For Dees supporters, today was not our day and unfortunately not for Banno either. A couple of opportunities emerged for our number 6 but alas there was no sizzle.   Brisbane atoned for last week’s record loss to North Melbourne, comprehensively out

    GOOD MORNING by Meggs

If you are driving or training it to Cranbourne on Saturday, don’t forget to set your alarm clock. The Melbourne Demons play the reigning premiers Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields this Saturday, with the bounce of the ball at 11:05am.  Yes, that’s AM.   The AFLW fixture shows deference to the AFL men’s finals games.  So, for the men it’s good afternoon and good evening and for the women it’s good morning.     The Lions were wounded last week by 44 points, their highest ever los

    HORE ON FIRE by Meggs

The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals. They brought tremendous forward half pressure, and our newly renovated defensive unit looked shaky.

    REMATCH by Meggs

The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm. Our last game of 2023 was an agonisingly close 5-point semi-final loss to Geelong, and we look forward to Melbourne turning the tables this week. Practice match form was scratchy for both teams with the Demons losing practice matches to Carlton and Port Adelaide, while the Cats beat Collingwood but then lost to Essendo

It’s been hard to miss the seismic global momentum happening in Women’s sport of late. The Matildas have been playing to record sell-out crowds across Australia and ‘Mary Fowler is God’ is chalked onto footpaths everywhere. WNBA basketball rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has almost single-handedly elevated her Indiana Fever team to unprecedented viewership, attendances and playoffs in the USA.   Our female Aussie Paris 2024 Olympians won 13 out of Australia’s all-time record 18 gol

    EPILOGUE by Whispering Jack

I sit huddled in near darkness, the only light coming through flickering embers in a damp fireplace, the room in total silence after the thunderstorm died. I wonder if they bothered to restart the game.  No point really. It was over before it started. The team’s five star generals in defence and midfield ruled out of the fray, a few others missing in action against superior enemy firepower and too few left to fly the flag for the field marshal defiantly leading his outnumbered army int
