I took a straw poll amongst the Carlton fans at work today. No way do they want to swap trac for harry mckay. Not sure how representative of the broader Carlton faithful but they were pretty emphatic. His age is also a concern.

i think trac and us are overestimating his value.

Same with all my mates (most Carlton fans) but to be fair most supporters want to get great players for a bag of chips so itโ€™s not really objective.ย

On.Trac5? That sounds like my year 2000 hotmail address dedicated to Shane Woewodin.

Hard to believe but someone in my office, a Collingwood supporter, actually told me yesterday that Max should've retired two years ago.

That's garbage but there is an argument to say the club has been built around Max and the game plan is in essence kick it to Max down the line.

I love Max but IMO its the cause of a lot of the onfield issues. Arguably its why the Grundy trade didn't work. The club and Max weren't prepared to compromise and Grundy had limited flexibility onfield.

Grundy also isnโ€™t that goodย

This whole ****show has shown his true colours and in the current world, his entitled attitude wonโ€™t appeal to many people let alone sponsors.ย

A certain few Australian male tennis players appeared to have very similar traits and quickly lost the media and Australian fans. Not justifying those Australian tennis players but in their defence, they were playing an individual sport.ย  It is so bizarre that a similar attitude could bubble to the surface and be on full show in AFL football with squads of approx 44 players.ย ย

Not to water down Tracโ€™s traumatic experience, but pretty much every woman whoโ€™s given birth via c-section is awake during abdominal surgery.

Also, the headline from triple m was misconstrued. The surgeon asked for the number after his surgery was finished, not before, which I assume was primarily to tell his family he was out of surgery.

Please get this straight. ย CP5 did not have his abdomen opened with or without anaesthesia. ย He had an angiogram, which some of us, particularly our senior members, may have had. ย Anxiety causing but not particularly painful. That is far far less discomfort than a C section.

I fully understand your position.ย  But in this case I don't know who it is that you have asked not to be named since such posts disappear. I can imagine that others may have named them without knowing, thus causing you more work.ย  It seems the mere mention of this person (as distinct from slagging off about some journo) is the problem?

Could you not publish a longish list of names which not to be mentioned in this thread without that causing you any grief?ย  Would seem odd, but you can hadly be sued for that.

Hi Andy,

Iโ€™ve gone through all your directives in this thread, but Iโ€™m still a bit unclear. Are you emphasising that itโ€™s crucial we avoid naming or blaming private individuals on this platform? Because if thatโ€™s what youโ€™re saying, then Iโ€™m understanding it to mean that itโ€™s essential not to name or blame private individuals here.

Please confirm if thatโ€™s correct.

Thanks,

Posters have been kind of used in the past that what is said on Demonland stays on Demonland. Itโ€™s a hot topic and we are being watched from the outside.

Iโ€™m surprised we havenโ€™t heard a dicky bird from Kate Roffey.

There should be an AFL investigation as to why Trac was sent back on field with life threatening injuries!

A paramedic with no more than a stethoscope wouldnโ€™t have allowed him on field. I canโ€™t blame Trac or his family to be p*shed off with club.

If we donโ€™t have full club independent review we will just go down to bottom of the ladder.

i have watched the Club for too long not to have my say.

So Iโ€™m originally from the states (I know, Iโ€™m sorry, it wasnโ€™t my choice) and Iโ€™ve spent a lot of time watching diva players in sport (NBA in particular), but usually they have some level of leverage and/or only request a trade when they know other teams have the assets and interest to trade for them.ย
ย

The thing that gets me about this is I literally cannot see how Trac believes he has any leverage or other club interest at all. As many others have said here, when you combine the massive salary, the likely repercussions physically from the injury, the mental toll heโ€™s discussed, the age, the toxic diva behaviour, and the assets required to get him, burning bridgesโ€”no matter how troubled the club isโ€”seems shockingly ill advised.ย

This is all just so bizarre and I feel like itโ€™s inevitable that I catch your collective MFCSS after only a few years of membershipโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ข

You're not on notice.

I want to clarify the reasoning behind our auto-moderation system. This system is in place to automatically flag certain words or phrases that might be problematic for various reasons, many of which I've attempted to outline in previous general "warning" posts.

The purpose of this auto-moderation is to ensure that potentially problematic posts aren't published when there's no one available to review or moderate them. Ideally, we wouldnโ€™t need such a system, but as Iโ€™ve explained before, itโ€™s a necessary precaution.

If your post is held up for moderation or even removed, it doesn't necessarily mean youโ€™ve done something wrong. The forum software doesnโ€™t notify users about the specific word or phrase that triggered the moderation, which I understand can be confusing. Unfortunately, this is a limitation of the software. Even if you identify and edit the word in question, your post may still be held for moderation, and this too is a software constraint. Itโ€™s important to note that I canโ€™t provide a comprehensive list of all the words, names, and phrases that are moderated, as they vary for a variety of reasons.

Another limitation is that if a post is approved but later quoted by someone else, the quote may still be flagged for moderation if it contains the previously moderated content. This is beyond our control and can be frustrating for both users and the moderation team, but itโ€™s a necessary part of maintaining a safe and constructive environment.

Banned users are typically those who have deliberately evaded moderation, continued to break rules after being warned, or ignored repeated warnings about posts that canโ€™t be auto-moderated.

I acknowledge that this system isn't perfect, but Iโ€™m doing my best to facilitate an important and sensitive discussion. I understand that emotions are high and that people want to express their frustrations and opinions, but my goal is to ensure that this conversation can happen in a way that is beneficial for everyone involved.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
