That may be true but until that is applied uniformly across the AFL it is poor form to single out one clubs docs since it currently happens often.

Agreed. Just the other day I read an article or a post from one of the journos praising Pendles for being so brave for playing the past few games with broken ribs. You can't make that stuff up.

Dazz, it was mentioned to him recently that publicly whinging about the direction of the Club, is ruining the direction of the Club.

Very difficult at the moment to see the circuit breaker.

Thank you mate.

Appreciate the insight once again.

There's only one similar situation to this that I can think of right now and that is when Nicky Winmar had temporarily walked out on St Kilda shortly after the jumper raising game and they couldn't seem to get around the table to sort things out.

Can someone post any article or quote where Petracca has whinged or complained in public? Not from a journalist. From him! This really is hilarious.

But apparently “rigorous physical testing” plus scans at the hospital didn’t “surely have revealed something serious “ so why should docs at the ground know better.

The hospital medics took time to specify Petracca's various injuries, but that does not mean they failed to recognize from the outset that he was in  serious distress.

A mere poke in the ribs would have been enough to tell anyone that he was in severe pain.

Anyone who thinks four broken ribs would not have been causing extreme discomfort must be in fairyland.

In all the doom and gloom just want to give a shout out to Andy. He’s been on fire today.

This is ALL a game.....

Opening moves, return salves..   sneaky gambits...on and on and on.

When the whistle blows ...fat lady sings... then...THEN we'll know where we're  at.

Long....long....ways to go folks

No One is showing their real cards yet ;)

Jeremy Howe also played out the grand final with broken ribs I believe…

I hope the club lobbies the AFL to break up the player agencies. The concentration into a handful of firms gives them too much power and hurts the smaller clubs. They all have to be registered with the AFL and they could easily put a cap on the value of each agency.

Where did you read that rigorous physical testing happened.  My experience of going to emergency is you see a triage nurse, tell her what’s wrong and then you sit on a trolley for 8 hours.  How quickly and who saw Tracc would have been entirely down to the information provided to the hospital.  If Tracc presented with info stating he had a knee in the ribs, and had suspected bruised ribs, then 8 hours of car accidents, fevers, and other patients are in front of him.

I have no idea how he presented, or even whether our club doctor called ahead.  But it seems from the facts that the triage nurse had no idea he may have had internal organ injuries.

Pretty clear what's going on here. Disappointing. Hopefully wise heads prevail.

If the issue is with the medical stuff on KB game, do we need to get Christian and the Doctor in a ring together? Maybe a bit of light sparring, helmets on of course. They can hash it out and hopefully shake hands after.

But in all seriousness, if that was the main issue what would it have to do with anyone else but the Doctors who cleared him? Not like Pert and Roffey are down there doing the assessments.

I really hate this influencer thing.  A bloke is on $1M/year for several years so he's in a good position to launch his life post football.  There are plenty of jobs which with his profile he could walk into in AFL land and doubtless many other things which are of some productive value to society.  But to effectively just become a stooge for promoting products and producing nothing of value is very sad.

Absolutely, it's where the world sits right now.

But if only someone had used the 'poke him in the ribs' diagostic tool suggested by Dee-Detonator he wouldn't have been allowed back on.

I didn't. I was gently mocking another poster who said that should have been done in the rooms and our docs were at fault. I was pointing out that the very same could have been said of the staff at the hospital.

This is true. And the parallels with Trac are amazing.

A few years ago my wife gave me a mug that said “World’s Greatest Husband”. It was my Norm Smith!  We had moved into a beautiful house and everything was great!

One day I was using the Karcher to clean the stone wall in front of the house. After a while I felt tired and went inside for a rest before I’d finished. The wife said I should finish it that day because we had guests the next, and a half clean wall would look odd. She sent me back out there when I was really hurt. I continued with it until I couldn’t even hold the hose. Something was obviously wrong, so my wife called the ambulance and soon enough I was in intensive care. I’d suffered an extreme heart attack and had only 1% blood flow.

The doctors worked on me with an emergency operation and saved my life. I was in intensive care for four days. I wasn’t allowed visitors because of Covid.

That’s all true.

It’s only now, watching Trac, that I know what I could have done next.

While recovering I could have plotted. I didn’t like the direction of the marriage. (How could she not know that my arteries were clogged?)

In order to extricate myself from the marriage, I could give my wife one reason. I could tell my friends another. And I could tell a few stories to the neighbours as well.

There’s sure to be someone else interested in me. Maybe someone with more friends, or famous friends that would help me enjoy my life, like I deserve. Hey, maybe a rich woman. I know a couple of well connected wealthy widows who like to throw big parties. Then I could tell my dad jokes in front of a larger audience. I’d love the attention!

It would be a great way to build my brand.

Thanks Trac.

Predicting we won't be able to discuss it here if Schwarz's predictions of mass casualty are anything to go by

Does Schwarz not realise that the other side also have top lawyers defending them and would recommend course of action.

Who could be more of a perfect role model for going there to chase the big crowds and limelight?

Like Grundy last year I wouldn't be surprised if he told him to "Get out of there"

I think the point is no one will be winning if all the dirty laundry is made public and head will roll regardless

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
