The Agenda is that the Club needs to get better, right now over Summer.
Our number one Player has told the Club to shape up. I applaud it

If he hadn’t said anything and Morris did make up garbage, there would have been a response, but there has been nothing from the Tracc Camp and he has been training with the boys

This was targeted at the Board, Executive and Coaches

Goody said as much this morning

“We have to get better…”

I agree re that it was more than likely said said,  but to bring it into the public domain is what irks me a bit. I get that the publicity adds a touch more seriousness to it but it does come at a cost.

“Players running their own agenda” is the best quote I’ve seen on this whole issue. Lewis knows exactly what’s going on and the poor way the Petracca stuff has been leaked.

That's the concerning part is that Lewis is still quiet connected and close mates with the likes of Gawny, Melksham and few others.

Certainly he'd be aware of what's going on.

It has to be in the Public eye, that’s the only way to get a serious reaction.
A lot of this stuff should have been done last Summer, but it was kept quiet.
Now it has to be done thoroughly…

I have no doubt Tracc made the Comment to someone, because he hasn’t challenged it….

Let’s say Tracc does indeed wish to leave..what gets the deal done? It’s have to be massive for the club to entertain it. No one is willing to give us much. We’d want picks and players.

That's an interesting comment by Roos, I haven't heard that before. Any ideas on what he meant more specifically?

When there is turmoil at a club, player managers(sharks) circle.

two top 10 picks and a player would be my asking price.

Lets say hypothetically he wanted to go to North Melbourne, i'd want Pick 2, their future first and Zane Duursma

it'd be a really big haul.

Care to elaborate ? I have no idea in such things and am genuinely interested of what we should have done.

If and I mean if, he wants to go. It will be to Collingwood. He won’t play in front of small crowds, been vocal on this. He is super family oriented and they love the Filth..

He’s wouldn’t go to anyone but a club in the window which immediately kills the deal because they don’t usually have the picks to get deals like this done.

Have to say that I liked the calm demeanour from Goody in his presser today, having just watched it. I also liked the way he engaged with TM without all of the histrionics we saw from Luke Beveridge to the same journo.

As regards to Trac all I'll say is that I'd be very disappointed if he's using the media as a proxy to force changes on the inside.

it'd start at two first round picks and a best 22 player as a make-weight for the salary

so, say it's the peptides, it's 2 first + parish

and even then WE WOZ ROBBED

What was the Tim Kelly trade? Much more than that.

I mean 4 top 10 picks and the best player of what ever club it is works too.

Sure

It’s just one doesn’t want one to think one greedy

The Qantas Club International Lounge staff already know that due to my proclivity for Chivas and coke (!) but I’ve got a reputation here to maintain.

Sort of.

He's not going anywhere. Would be disaster for the club to let him go and he has 5 years to go on his contract

But I will play the speculation game. He’s 29 next year coming  off a bad injury. Dusty was 30 when he came back of a lesser injury h was never same player. Even if he does get back to his best how long does he have at his peak- 2 maybe 3 years.

Two good first round picks with at least one inside top 10 would be about right.
I think there would be a few clubs that could come up with that.

If we're entertaining a trade, he won't get to pick. It's 'You said you want to go, we'll get the best return'. Collingwood don't have a first rounder.

Send him to Rochmond for pick 1, future 1st and Noah Balta

That trade is close to what I was thinking IF it were to happen ,,, maybe add a player.

Similar type of players traded were:

  • Judd:  He and a 3rd round pick for Carlton's pick 3, 20 and Josh Kennedy.  In those days picks weren't diluted with Academy players and Judd had a few more honours.
  • Dangerfield:  Pick 9. 28 and Gore.  Dangerfield went on to achieve a few more honours.

They were both in their mid 20's

Fans may not like such a trade but they are reasonable comparisons especially as Christian is that much older and the ? over his return from injury.

Hopefully, it is all hypothetical and he stays.

Not that he is leaving, but that deal would get us Reid for the 2 pick 1’s, as we were close when he was drafted and that is much much better and Balta thrown in.

Peter Ryan’s article in today’s Age mentions 2 things (verified by 2 separate sources) that help articulate what’s going on.

1. Christian is frustrated by player standards and professionalism, and

2. Players are frustrated that as a senior leader at the club, who has been openly frustrated at them, Christian was in Noosa and not at the club.

If that’s the issue it’s really not difficult to see that once Christian is back driving standards a lot of this simply goes away.

Failed to fulfill the promise of his breakout six goal effort against the Tigers in 2023 and was generally disappointing as a key forward. It remains to be seen whether Simon Goodwin will persevere with him in attack or return him to the backline where he was an important cog in the club’s 2021 premiership success. After a bright start to the season, playing mostly in defence, Howes seemed to lose his way in midseason but fought back with some good performances at Casey and finished the year back at AFL level. Originally an NBL basketballer with the Brisbane Bullets, he moved across town in 2019 to the AFL Lions where he played 19 games before crossing to Melbourne where he was expected to fill a role as a back up ruckman/key forward. Unfortunately, didn’t quite get there although he did finish equal sixth in Casey’s best and fairest award. Date of Birth: 23 February 1999 Height: 198cm Games CDFC: 14 Goals CDFL: 13

Sadly, had to wrap up a great career in midstream on the back of multiple concussions which culminated in the Maynard hit in the 2023 Qualifying Final. His loss to the club was inestimable over and above his on field talent given his character and leadership qualities, all of which have been sorely missed. The son of former Demon Brownlow Medalist Shane, Taj added a further 16 games to his overall tally of games but a number were as substitute. SLIP SLIDING AWAY by Meggs

It was a sweaty, slippery night at Cazalys Stadium, a tough slog with low scoring and missed opportunities.  The Hokball Hawks hung on to win by a goal and sit second on the ladder, relegating the disappointed Demons to, almost certainly, finals spectators.   We had to win this match. When news broke of late withdrawals of talisman Kate Hore and key back Gaby Colvin, expectations plummeted, and Demon fans despaired.  The bad news was the signature song of 2024, a season that’s
