Very good prospect but wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in the top 10.

We desperately need a tall young ruckman (202-5 cm tall) to develop over the last few years of Maxy’s career while he can still learn from the greatest ruckman of the modern era.

Young strong ruckman to eventually replace Gawn in 2029

Young strong key position forward

Small evasive forward who actually kicks multiple goals

Players with heart and intensity and energy

Benji Van Rooyen (the younger brother) in 26 and Axel Walsh in 27.

If we had top 5 pick, then Cooper Duff-Tyler is a chance or even Louis Emmett as top 15-20 pick. But with Dees likely having lower draft capital, Taj Murray is the youngster who I’d target as a ruckman of the future.

Murray is part of the AFL academy, NT academy, but he’s actually playing at SANFL North Adelaide’s under-18s and school footy at Prince Alfred College. At 201cms, he’s got the competitor edge and second efforts that rucks need in the modern game. One to watch this year in the carnival.

Yes, come on a lot in the last 12 months after long period out of the game. Ruck craft is developing nicely has soft hands and starting to move a lot better around the ground as he grows into his body. Can also rest forward and impact the scoreboard. Currently around the 203cm height with some more growth to come I would suspect

Really hate the Pies !! Not only do they seem to be the destination club for many players, but their father son alignment has netted them so very very good players (Daicos x2, Moore). This year Thomas McGuane had played 3 Coates league matches for 3 x Best On Ground performances. Averages 34 possessions and 5 marks as a classy left foot midfielder. Seems to have the “Pendlebury” time when using the footy. Should be a first round pick and Pues will nab him in a heartbeat. God we hate the Pies ☠️

What about a key forward??!! We have had 2 decent ones (Neitz and Hogan) in the past 32 years.

I assume we're better to buy low and hope they flourish in an AFL environment, rather than having to spend big and hope they make it.

Given the overall standard of this years crop is thought to be very poor it’s a bit of a concern that neither rates highly at this stage.

Hopefully Sinnema can have a good champs series and move up the ratings.

they're certainly going to want to trade 'out' of their top pick in 2025, if not 2026, plus the longer it goes the more likely it is that matt rowell is on his way to the puddy tatts or the filth

Shallow draft ? Theres plenty of talent. The issue is that the academy and father son picks have such a high concentration across the first round. It’s such a compromised pathway now that it is giving a huge lift to Giants, Swans ,Lions and Suns (Lions and Swans in particular that have full academy players plus father-son availability).
