Alex Pearce’s hair is magnificent. 10/10.

My Dad is obsessed 😂

Frederick has really lowered Kosi’s standards today. Poor poor game by him.

May was literally tackled in the marking contest how was that a freo free?

We've been much better in the second half. Gives me hope

JvR our only forward today. In contrast, hard to find a Freo forward who hasn't had impact

Turners hands anytime the ball comes his way for a mark, do they extend??????????

Because we are playing extra in the stoppages which we never do normally.

I can understand them being better, specially if we don't have Max.

But see how we thought Brisbane would smash us and kick 20 on us? Then with dare and effort we almost won it.

At least make it a slogfest, low scoring proposition and see what happens. Don't let them kick 7 in a row.

Anyway, hopefully we can keep the score as close as possible in the last.

Brisbane are a one paced contested and outside kicking game side.

You can muck it up against them. Plus they were all over us for the part quarter and a half.

Without Gawn we couldn’t really control stoppages or down the line game.

We’ve muck it up at times then they’ve just gone bang on the counter with speed.

not the reason we're losing, but this umpiring is shocking

We knew that would be the case from the start. Had to beat two teams today

Darcy went down like two sacks of potato’s… one just isn’t enough

We are 100 miles of deserving to play finals.

This trade and draft period will be incredibly important to our success next year and in 2026.

As the new Tassie team and the northern state academy gifts swallow up the top picks for a number of years, we face an aging list without a ruck, key back and multiple elite midfielders, and that's not to mention no key forwards.

Nail this trade and draft period and we can compete again for finals. If not, we risk sliding back down to familiar cellar dwelling territory.

One thing is clear, we cannot win another flag with this list

With you all the way on this. In many ways it's been the season from hell. First Clarry, then Brayshaw and Smith, Petracca and now Gawn. What are the odds? Forget finals for me. Be competitive for the remainder of the season and finish as low as possible with respectability.  Not in the camp of play and win a final. Adds 3 weeks to your season. Hope Battle and Baker stay and get a decent pick in the top 10. Be aggressive in the trade as we have cap space and half a dozen delistings. Aforementioned players have good pre seasons, younger players continue to develop and it all looks very different.* Only caveat is numerous other times coming at the rate of knots 😏

Any reason why they play the exact same bad 90s dance song after every single Freo Goal?

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.
