None of this information is public so we have no real info, but from what's available elsewhere Goodwin would just be one vote amongst the 4. Which is to stop coaches driving the list off a cliff for short-term gains.

In any case, putting two and two together, whatever Goodwin's feelings are he has to support Oliver publicly in case none of this goes through and they have to work together going forward.

Not so. It's time to get tough, tell other clubs to back off, and warn Oliver that the club will fine or suspend him for any further infractions.

Melbourne have given him a contract that ensures he can retire from  a game a wealthy man. 

The club has also gone out of its way to support him when he experienced off-field problems that have had an adverse effect on the team's performance levels.

Metaphorically  speaking, his response is apparently to kick Melbourne players, officials and fans in the teeth.

The notion of letting him leave for a likely mid-teens future draft pick, while still playing a hefty chunk of his salary, is frankly insane.

Having seen how the Petracca and Oliver sagas have played out, one thing is now certain. Very few clubs, if any, will be offering seven-year contracts, even to superstars.

If Geelong want him, they have to ruffle the feathers of one of their own star players by telling him they want to trade him out for Clayton Oliver. Surely our club can manage taking a hard stance on this?

If they finished in the bottom 4 and we demanded pick 4, it would ruffle half of their fan base, but that has to be the cost of doing business. With only pick 15 or a future 1st, they surely don't get what  they want without sacrificing some of their own relationships to get it across the line.

Only goes so far with ADHD (though can certainly help), and there can be side effects which might be incompatible with elite level sport. But biggest issue is consistency, with many people stopping their medication or not taking it as required.

Would love to hear how Goody really feels about this, it basically stamps his papers for the end of 2025.

We won’t be able to rise from this mess due to fatigue and also lack of available talent.

I can see how the playing group including Trac would not have been happy with this. But its now time to move on.

Melbourne is currently in the process of reviewing the football department amid serious concerns about the club culture.

There is a view at Melbourne the club needs to make serious changes after failing to win a final in the three years since the 2021 premiership

I've been a member for 35 consecutive years since I was a kid, this is the first time I've seriously considered not rejoining. I couldn't go to many games this season and the club is a basketcase, not really sure what the point is.

Medication itself is not a silver bullet.  Structure, exercise, figuring out works best for themselves any day of the week, support network (both formal and informal)... There are over 200 genetic markers for ADHD and each person has a different mixture, nevermind the environmental factors, the experience of societal stigma, and how symptoms can change across a person's lifetime (and also affected by lack of sleep, hydration, diet, stress etc).  What works one day, one month, one year may not work the next. 

It's not to say that a person with ADHD does not have personal responsibility and accountability, just that even in good scenarios it can be a handful.  

It's no surprise that a lot of the issues about and surrounding Clarry correspond to the time he gets his first significant injury (and the loss of structure and routine that comes from that).
