Does Tim Lamb know about this?

It’s going to be a Lamb Roast.

To replace d’arsey Moore, or as cultural attache?

They plan to set him up in a tag team with Maynard.

Luke Parker would be a good get. He was the 61st ranked player in the AFL in 2023 on Wheelo Ratings. He is not in the midfield this year only due to Heeney taking his role (and injury/suspension).

Dylan Shiel is another veteran who we could us for a year or two and would cost little in draft picks or salary.

Ash Johnson could use a change of scenery and has AFL level talent. I don't think he is the answer to our forward woes but he could be part of the solution.

I am not against Rory Lobb if the Dogs contribute to his salary. He fills the back up ruck role better than what we currently have and we are in deep trouble if Max gets injured.

Agreed on Will Brodie if available. I'm also a big fan of Cooper Harvey if available.

Hipwood would be an excellent target although I dont know his contract status.

I remember him carving us up.

I worry the days of us targetting reasonably big names like May, Lever and Langdon may be on pause.

Successful Footy Trades usually are working on players who were playing AFL footy but seek to move due to

Money

Longer contract terms

Going home /Need a fresh start

Are in and out and in and out (and want regular footy)

Players in the early to mid 20s work generally best

Looking through the finals and seeing the teams, that’s the go. It’s proven. It’s not picking up players who are injury riddled or can’t get a game at their current club. We did it through 2017 -20. Hibberd. Lever. May. Langdon. Melksham. Brown. It made sense !!

By the way. The Lions. Neale. Cameron. Dunkley. Ah Chee. All were regulars at their prior clubs who were traded in for a reason

That's been on hold for 6+ years

I thought Harvey played a very good game against us and looked skilled and has AFL qualities. I wonder if he is not coachable.

i wonder if he played a good game coz it was against us rather than it being a him factor

Really? What makes you think that about us?

I get the exact opposite feeling. I thought last year we might go big, but were no where near anything.

I think we have very few chips to play with appart from future picks. Maybe Trac, if he wants to leave, but even then we have to decide upon getting a good pick or not paying much of his contract. Can't get both, IMO

But I hope you're right

Think people are overstating the issue of Trac's contract.

Sounds like Hipwood's going to have an interrupted pre season at best as he recovers from a knee injury.

Might be best to target healthy players.

I'll have bow to your more eclectic music awareness ht. I'm strictly old school. Kraftwerk or Neu! or Brian Eno Music for Spit Roast?

Crazy to think we will miss out on Flanders and Rosas

Real [censored] happy days here. Sadly some seem to be revelling in it.

Oh, they’ll all do just fine… I’m a big Eno fan right from his original Roxy Music days… Fripp and Eno being one of my favourite collaborations…also Eno and Byrne’s My Life In the Bush of Ghosts. Could also throw in Tangerine Dream there.

Why? Looks like no one is coming to the Dees

As it is for most clubs most trade periods. The marquee trades get all the media, but the vast majority of trades are for meat and potatoes players near the ends of their careers, surplus to requirements or go-home.

Not particularly whelming.

The season starts next March. There's no prize for "winning" trade period.

If you're Brisbane - just a couple of premierships.

Tim Lamb. Please show some backbone this year.

Early days but... Who's in charge of putting our spine together for next season? Steven May is apparently out the door, Harrison Petty is in limbo (neither forward nor back) and Tmac transitioning to back up. Forward line is twix and inbetween good start early learning and Brody & Co at the Carringbush Retirement Home.

List management Guru Lamb is rumoured to have this guy on the back burner as a surprise monster talls recruitment.

Expecting King Steven to put his foot down soon.

The one you missed that plays a role for some players is the desire to move to less AFL-oriented states where they can be out of the media spotlight/hothouse. It's where the 4 northern clubs have an advantage. Buddy Franklin and Joe Daniher both cited that as one of the reasons for choosing the clubs they did, but they're not alone.

Of course, everything else has to be in place, and as always, money talks the loudest.

Actually saw them play live once. Which is something, as they only ever did a handful of dates around the No Pussyfooting album.

Was as you'd expect, both monotonous and mesmerising, and the technology was impressive for the time. Still remember it.

Roan Steele, Ted Closehy, Jai Serong, Ben Jepson. Not sure there’s anyone out of contract who moves the needle at all.

That would completely go against everything King said in his press conference about wanting to make finals. The messaging to the fans would have to change
