Riccardi definitely worth a look. not getting a game.

And Brown isnt even in the emergencies. We should go hard and hopefully land one. Cadman looking like he’ll be a gun so they are stacked

Anyone know Henry Smith from the Lions?

206cm ruckman 12 tackles and 52 hitouts in the VFL Prelim.

scored 17.11 this year too.

At 21, would be a good fit to learn from Gawny?

He’s definitely going to be a player. He’s had 3 years in the system and bulking out.  At 21yo, now he’s in line behind Omac (30) and he’s gone past Fort.  Smith debuted this year.  Contracted to 2026. Lions wouldn’t be letting him go.  He’s better than Verrall or Fullarton imv.

Guess we can expect to find out the intentions of a few GWS players this week.

“Hey Finn, I hear you like straight set exits… well, we have plenty of those where we’re from”

Get it done Dees 😈

GWS now officially out.

Seems like Peatling will stay.

Wonder if we'll hear Waje Derksen request a trade?

Riccardi only out of the team through injury right?

Wouldn't have much reason to request a trade, apart from money or family reasons

Correct. Hadn't missed a game from Round 10 last year until he got injured this year and needed surgery which ended his season. Lachie Keeffe, who hadn't played to that point, took his spot as the third tall/back-up ruck (with Hogan and Cadman the other two).

I’m not sure Keeffe didn’t offer more tho as a genuine back up ruck and big aggressive body.

Riccardi a taller less talented Fritsch. The two of them in the same side would drive supporters (not just me) crazy.

Wouldn’t shock me if the Giants moved on Riccardi to open the spot for Max G. Especially if they pick up Crows Himmelberg for mature depth. But I suspect they keep him to cover the young talls.

Odd.  Did we finish 14th again next year as well as being allowed a two year future first pick trade exemption?

No mate, we offered LY and this Year Picks and way it has turned out means it is the largest offer ever made for one player/pick based on the points its ended-up accumulating at.

Matt Kennedy told to explore his options

Would definitely fit the bill if we’re looking for experienced midfield depth

I actually really rate Kennedy so wouldn’t mind it at all if he came for a later pick or two

Could he fill ANB’s role?

Our second round pick tied to Swans (38?) perhaps?

I hope we don't touch 5 & soon to be 25

He killed us in (was it?) 2020 in an empty Marvel stadium.

If he's been told to go elsewhere and not part of their best 22 plans then they surely can't expect a 2nd round pick, no matter how late it is.

Bulldogs 3rd at pick 50 should do if we were interested.

I’m very much in favour of exploring the Matt Kennedy situation.

We need more midfield power. He wants that opportunity. But he can genuinely play forward which helps with rotations.

He didn't play.

Carlton pair Matt Kennedy + Lewis Young have been told they’re free to look around elsewhere for a new home in 2025.
Kennedy had an honest conversation with Michael Voss last week - he sees himself as an inside midfielder, the Blues see him continuing half-forward role.

I’d be happy to grab Kennedy for a pick in the 50s/60s

Owies was a player I’d thought would be nice to have as he’s very handy around the goals.

Was it in pre season then? Didn't he kick 4 goals against us?

Edited by Adam The God
It was pre season 2022, and he kicked 2 goals and had 37 touches.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
