Seems fair to me as they AFL changed the rules in his draft year and are about to change them back only 2 years later.

I’m normally in the “let’s go to the draft” camp but I’d happily give up a couple of good picks to bring Mac back.Only had a nearly game yesterday but you can see his potential. Can play forward, back or ruck and is only going to improve. Would suit our needs perfectly. Not as mobile as Jackson but would dovetail with Max beautifully. 
Would also mean we would only need to bring in big meat and spuds type of ruck when Max does finally retire. 
 

Only one year left on his contract, we can bring in his brother this year if it helps. We would have to make him a massive offer but should have the cap space to be able.

    Lukosius - he’s not for me 

    Fiorini - he’s ok depth and can play inside and out but he’s slow

    Davies - he’s interesting. Untested as a full time mid. Big body. 

    Joel Jeffrey - interesting. Super talent, can play at both ends. Is he a serious footballer?

    Sean Lemmens for a year in the back pocket so we’ve got an actual specialist in that role?

    Most of the rest aren’t doing much in the 2’s.

    Humphrey looked totally disinterested to me yesterday. We'd want to know he has the psychological side right.

    I pay next to no attention to other clubs, so humour me please on whether there are any realistic options for somebody who is competent playing ruck and forward so JVR can stay put and concentrate on kicking goals. Not necessarily Peter Wright, but somebody of that ilk.

    I would also take Mac in a heartbeat.

    The bit about giving junk picks was rather tongue in cheek; a dig at the AFL.

    In the unlikely scenario we trade all of Petracca , Oliver and Viney. How do we go into 2025 with a competitive midfield , that already lacks depth ? 

    Do we go into complete rebuild mode or do we look to bring in some midfielders from other clubs as well as use some high end draft picks ? 

    Our midfield would lack established A grade talent unless we were able to pry a star midfielder out of another club. Or do we just rebuild around Rivers, Mcvee , Tholstrup and hope that Sparrow might improve his output ? 

    Most likely we won’t trade all of them and maybe none of them. However, I don’t think you want players at your club that don’t want to be there no matter how good those players are. I am fascinated how we approach this trade and draft period. It’s so important that we get it right

    I think any trades of midfielders out has to come with trades of playable midfielders in, even if we are comfortable using the picks for depth and being a couple of injuries away from somewhat a rebuilding side as we were this year.

      A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.
