Tracc choking up when talking about how hard the last two weeks has been… 😢

Anyone who has experienced sudden onset medical trauma will tell you how awful and traumatic it can be.
I was rushed to emergency surgery 6 weeks before my wedding and it was absolutely horrific, not just for myself but for everyone around me.
I remember being wheeled off into the OR not knowing if I’ll get to walk down the aisle (spoiler alert: I did!).

I hope he takes all the time he needs to recover. Those few weeks after major surgery are the absolute worst. You feel like a sack of [censored] and I can only imagine how difficult that would be for someone as fit and active as Trac.

Listening to Tracc on 360, I doubt we will see him for quite some time. It’s very apparent, and understandable, that his fiancé was deeply traumatised by what happened. There is the whole ‘life after football’ tone to the way he spoke tonight. I think he has some big decisions ahead of him and a lot will be decided by his experiences during recovery.

whilst he denied that family were upset at the club, he kind of said that they were in fact angry. I have heard this from other sources that aren’t in the media, but connected to football. He had the company line prepared, but when emotions took over, the narrative he delivered was slightly different.

It’ll be an interesting watch. I wish him all the best in his recovery

This isn’t the entire interview. Anyone who hasn’t seen it yet should watch it. Especially when he talks about Darcey Moore. Tracc feels no animosity towards him. They’ve known one another since they were 8yo. Tracc shows how mature he is.

Good interview and great to hear he is doing ok.

He seems very keen to get back out there once he has recovered and I can’t wait to see him down at the club!

Down the track he should have a chat with Tom lonegan who obviously came back after losing a kidney.

When he does eventually come back that first contest is going to be the hardest for him.

Yeah he definitely tiptoed around the question about his family being upset with the club. Sounds like there must have been some communication breakdown.

Petracca will 110% be at Collingwood next year. That’s what I’ve heard.

Put aside the absurdity of that statement for a moment and tell me how that trade gets done. It’s 2 top 10 picks just to sit down at the table and have a conversation.

It was thinking of his fiancée that choked him up.

He is a pretty great guy.

He’s giving up football and going on tv to cook pasta.

100%

My read is the club went early with the statement around a potential duration of absence etc, without understanding the severity of the procedure - blood transfusions etc etc. No doubt a highly emotional time for family and close friends. Would be no different to the experience of when a child is injured at school or a construction worker is injured doing their job - incidents are investigated and people are shown to have made errors despite their best intentions. Not the sort of scenario that needs to be covered any further in the media imo.

What a man Christian is. So honest, always team first, so talented but never arrogant.

Can only imagine what he has gone through. I’m shocked it was so bad. And every player that runs out knows that can happen

Still thinks heads are going to roll from this. This season alone the club dragged Oliver to try get a reaction from him and then everyone has tried to cover their own [censored] instead of owning up to the fact they didn't handle the situation well.

When have we ever been in the news more than this season? Everything we do is wrong it seems.

Yes, I can absolutely relate to this as well.

Watching Trac on 360 tonight and from similar experiences I bet he’s not sleeping particularly well, is mentally and physically drained with a lot of alone time to dwell on things.

I really do hope that the MFC now has good and proper support for him as best they can - because the impression I got from 360 was that perhaps this was a bit lacking or misdirected in the early days.

I’ve also heard murmurs of discontent within the Petracca camp but who really knows with these things - I’ve got faith that any issues will pass with time.

Our Trac is one of the most raw, candid and charming AFL players that front up to the cameras, and seeing him so emotionally affected is tough viewing. The love for the guy from all the neutrals over at the AFL Reddit page has been heartening.

I genuinely hope I'm reading too deep into this, but I couldn't help but notice that when asked about the support he'd been receiving he said words to the effect of "the support from my family, friends, fiancee and the footy-world in general has been amazing". No specific mention of the MFC. I'm just going to assume it's because they don't start with an "f" and move on.

Rest up, champion.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
