Then why did we bring Fullarton to the club? We are desperately short of KPF's. He plays a very good game at Casey. The senior team is desperate for a forward who can help out in ruck Seems the perfect candidate to me.

I just dont get why we brought him in then if we are not giving him an opportunity to play in the role he was brought in for.  This is a guy who kicked 7 goals for the Lions AFL team when called on due to injuries.  We need a reliable fwd/ruck - thats why we got him.  JVR can play KPF and work on his craft. Clearly not a Goody fav....

Goodwin said No.13 pick Koltyn Tholstrup would be strongly considered to replace Petracca after he was sent back to the VFL following a difficult debut as a permanent forward in the round 5 loss to Brisbane.

The 186cm prospect had 29 disposals, five tackles and kicked 1.2 playing through the midfield in a heavy VFL win over Collingwood before the bye.

“We’ll bring a player in and expand some players’ roles to try and fill that void. It’s not about just one player, it’s about a team, it’s about a method and it’s about the collective, and that’s what we need to do – be really tight, united and forge our season ahead,” Goodwin said.

“(Tholstrup) has progressed really strongly in the VFL. He’s certainly gone back and developed his game from a midfield perspective and also forward of centre.

“He’s someone we’ll look at really closely. He’s a high draft pick with high talent, he gives enormous effort, he’s tough, so he’s someone that we’ll certainly look at.”

Goodwin confirmed in-form key defender Adam Tomlinson would return against North Melbourne on Saturday night after he was left out of the King’s Birthday game to field a smaller backline.

that means, if he plays, Petty stays fwd.  Goody stubborn..

Looking forward to playing Luke McDonald into form as is the MFC way.

The old Demonland furphy. Ridiculous.

Just because you don't understand why the FD are making the choices they are, that doesn't mean that Goodwin is "stubborn". It just means that he/they have access to information that you don't and/or see things differently to you.

As much as I want Petty to succeed and be part of our forward line solution at the moment I think he is ranked near last on AFL player ratings so there’s not much to lose by playing Fullerton to have a look.

Yep

Another stinker from Petty adds nothing

Play someone else

Pup Brown to debut this week 🥳

Let’s hope his debut is memorable, but for the right reasons.

For starters, a big turnout of Dees fans would make a huge difference.

Good luck, Pup ❤️💙

What chance Kentfield to play on Saturday night?

If it was up to me he would’ve debuted last week 😂

I’d say zero. He played limited minutes in the VFL and hasn’t even had one afl level preseason

Fullarton? 7 goals?

He’s kicked 6 goals in 18 career games.

He’s getting closer to a game on merit and certainly on the basis of having nothing to lose but has been mostly been underwhelming and awful in the ruck.

Interesting, Brown played his worst vfl game against Coburg and then was the holdover emergency before the bye. I guess they want him for a specific role but I’d be surprised if he’s in ahead of Kolt.

Awesome,  I was hoping that would be the case.

Neal Bullen is a future leader of wherever the world takes him

Bizarrely every team which has beaten us except the Swans and Collingwood's narrow and lucky escape against Norf have been soundly flogged the following round. We made them look far better than what they actually are. Kind of a barometer of how low we have sunk so far this season. The mind boggles what this coming round will offer up.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
