Ian Hill injured his ankle at training but is expected to play.

Bobby Hill methinks. Four days to get over a sprained ankle. He’ll be right (unfortunately).

Tommo unlucky but i dont think we need 3 talls against Collingwoods forward line.

Woey into the starting line up.

Disco or Petty i don't really care, both showing they are backmen not fwds, but they are both better than what we have in the VFL.

Would like to see Kolt get a go  think this kid can be our next Petracca.  In time!

Out of all the team hypothetical this is the one I like most.

I tried to think of a team without Petty forward too- but it just can't be done. He simply is our best 2nd tall option.

Chandler has been BOG ordinary for weeks! If Petty plays he MUST play back!  Period!

I don't mind it....

Balanced.....but some need to pull their fingers out.

If they don't come to play...  don't lower their eyes some.....don't overuse handballs...and pedal to the metal....  then we'll get dacked.

The filth have injuries, but they have ability, they have form, they have attitude, they have method   and they have belief...

By God I hate the bastards...

But I respect them. We should too.

They'll have little for us.

Yeh unfortunately we don't have options, it's him or Turner, and i think he is a better option than turner.....just.

Whilst i agree with you,i think they ade "lowering the eyes" too much and looking for options that aren't there.

We seem to turn the ball over around the CHF line way to often looking for a 15m kick on the 45 which opens us up straight down the middle.

Well..   I can see what you refer to..   Perhaps....sharpen their eyes..

This need to handball ad nauseam...meh.

It needs a thread of its own but good footy is a compendium of styles,a myriad of disposals etc...  about picking the best option.   We often when kicking blaze away as opposed kick to advantage.  Poor footy nouse and/or poor skills.

I seriously don't get how elite level players forget good football sense...

Funnily enough his name is Ian, but since he’s not a 73yo grey nomad he goes by Bobby

Broadly agree with this except Petty out, Tomlinson stays back with May and Tom Mac goes forward.

Dunstall would not get a kick in our forward line let alone young players without teaching them the craft.

For me high up on the ‘hate list’ is Cox and Maynard (and used to include Ginnivan). That aside they are a very good side and play an exciting brand of football.

It is their supporter base that l absolutely despise. No better example was when the ferals last year started chanting ‘Collingwood’ while Brayshaw was knocked out cold. It made me very angry. Still am!

The KB game for me is ‘our little final in June’.  I just don’t want us to win, I want to see Collingwood get smashed….so that I can soak up the crowd atmosphere. (Even better in some ways when we will be vastly outnumbered). GO DEES.

Can anyone spare a ticket for Monday? I didn't think I'd be able to attend and it appears all AFL Reserve is completely sold out. As too are club members and GA.

Their supporters are filth too. I include Daicos Snr in that.

He would but he'd have to get his own ball.

As of yesterday we still had some seats (not many though) available in M3. Not sure if they’re still available now.

You can find out by emailing  -

and asking if there’s any left.

TMac is finally playing some really good footy, we would just ruin another backman by moving him.  Hold Petty/Disco for now and pray Melksham just falls straight back into his form from last year 🙏

Are there any special plans to honour Gus at the match,  WCW?

It’s their home game so they control all the ‘activations’ pregame and halftime. Even if it was our home game it wouldn’t happen anyways. The most we were free to do in round one was to all wear Gussy helmets, but we can’t wear them on Monday since we’ll be wearing this year’s Big Freeze beanie.

I’ve been PM’d some awesome banner content suggestions from posters on here. Thing is, I doubt they’d even be considered. Remember, the AFL don’t want the Gus travesty highlighted, for obvious reasons 😑

Maybe we could resort to standing and clapping at the 10 minute mark of each quarter. Don’t need Pies or AFL’s approval for that.

Always thought there should be a thread called Alternative Banners where ppl we can just do wordplay and have some fun. Need a joke between all the recent gloom threads aha.

It might be sensitive for Angus but the club could make Gus our Concussion Ambassador. Spread the health and research efforts not only that he is already aware of but promote other activities.

There are more comprehensive testing and assessing tools that are being introduced and Gus could be involved in highlighting these. Start with our club and force the AFL to join this initiative.

Promote his situation at our home games and let us all celebrate and recognise his personal knowledge. He can then as a former player have a greater credibility as an influencer to other players and clubs.

Terrible HF line. Will barely kick a single goal. Wont win with that lineup.

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
