Can anyone clarify if Bowey was injured or if he was simply a tactical sub? If the latter, surely Turner, Petty or JVR would've been a better option to take off considering the conditions?

On that note, I thought Woewodin showed a bit when he came on. Nine touches in the final quarter.

AFL will come out and say they made a mistake on that sling tackle free kick

Which means we won, again, against Carlton, except for the umpiring.

unbelievable.

Yes but that's all they'll admit. Forget the 11 to 3 anomaly of putrid softies that helped a five zip insurmountable first quarter lead. The game was won with that and then lost by the one they might decide to admit.

It's a double whammy.

Because we were good enough in the end but despite the anomaly we were putrid at the start.

Jack Viney was missing first three quarters.

Our 3 tall fwds were missing and with Fritta down that's all folks.

Full credit to Tracca tonight.

Anb was great for me.

What a painful loss from a game that could have at least been a draw if we could have pushed a point on the first.

Again to not score on the first quarter means our preparation is really out of whack.

Are we meditating beforehand?

It's a strange way to play.

everyone knew how to beat the old melbourne- outside run and don’t  commit too many to the contest.

the new melbourne is harder to beat, so we helpfully do that ourselves with lousy score return on forward entries.

When do we think about a change of forward coaching personnel.  Everyone knows it’s a pattern. everyone knows  that’ if it’s fixed, we win big.

it’s been happening for years.

Us winning would have been robbery. 2nd best for 3 1/2 quarters by a long way

we absolutely dominated the last half, 4 goals to 8.

Worst 1st quarter I have seen since the Neeld era, just dont get it.

Should have beaten these clowns.

It wasn't that bad, first 10 minutes we were in

There was a chop to the arm to Petty, should have been paid free kick in front of goal.

Then we panicked after 3 goals from them, felt we needed to score ASAP and got sloppy.

I would have subbed Woey on at half time. That was slow from Goody. Tracca fwd was great but Goody missed that one.

I’ll say it again.

“Hey @Binmans PA  remember when you so arrogantly shut me down after the Richmond game, when I said we were belted in the stoppages and out of the middle.”

Remember how I said that would bite us in the [censored] against Carlton? Wheres your smug reply to this now?”

The better team, again, scored more shots but fluffed it (easy misses, a complete.no-show in q1) and was done by the umps (that dangerous tackle was simply fraudulent), but yet we walk away with nothing. Again.

Proud of the boys for not giving up, but I really hate seeing the blues after these games.

Nothing for the boys to be ashamed of as a result of that last quarter and their persistence in the third quarter beforehand. We know what happened, we know how it happened.

Umps hands all over this game, yes we were [censored] 1st qtr but this is shameful.

Chosen club this year I’m afraid to say, too many dodgy decisions to think otherwise.

Same as last year, no improvement whatsoever.

Joke AFL.

Throw in the “Dangerous” tackle. The AFL is almost unwatchable. Once our Era is over, I think I’ll be reverting back to local footy.

I am sorry for being too harsh on the team at HT.

Great comeback and we deserved the win.

Carlton are an ordinary team, will be making the numbers come September.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
