I’d like to see Marty Hore back in the side - probably in place of Woewodin, who I prefer on the wing rather than as a backman.

The good thing about Woey is his speed off the mark.

Cats have some nippy small forwards and the one thing that stood out to me with Woey’s game in the backline, was the speed in which he closed down the Tigers’ space on Wednesday night.

Just watch the first quarter . Petty lead or made possession 7 times but we failed to deliver the ball to him except once on the wing. Usual good disposers kicked it over his head or a yard short of him. Would be very stupid to drop him

im more concerned about JVR . Not leading, not grabbing marks, yes he is useful when rucking. But if Fullerton is to come in I would leave out JVR

He also dropped two or three marks during the game. Had a real stinker

Petty will not get dropped, are we friggin serious?

I still query Petty as the saviour up forward but he's a cog, not the main man, either forward or back.

His form  won't improve if he  doesn't play in his allocated position consistently.

He stays in and he stays forward .

I’d really love to beat both these sides. I have no idea how good or not quite we are this year. Our mids  are down, I can’t see how that continues. I think our forward half is 10 weeks of injury free footy from being quite strong. We have to finish to 4 so probably need to win at least one of the next two.

I feel Marty Hore is like JJ was, gets ball, stops, looks, looks again, everyone manned up and then kicks it! Plus fumbles a bit!

Much prefer stick with giving younger players a go than Marty! I realise many others think he is good, but not for me.

I would like to see Hunter come in, probably Woey go out, as the one change this week!

If Petty starts slowly, move him back and TMac forward for this week.

Much as I detest the increase of gambling advertising in our game, your point is interesting to say the least.
Most gamblers, I believe, bet with their heads not their hearts, and aren’t likely to often throw money after sentiment.without likelihood of return.
Any gamblers here please correct me if this is too simplistic.

Looking at the last couple of years we have won far more than we have lost.

it s percentage possibilities and probability.

pick the Dee’s. You win two out of 3,

Tom Hawkins hasn't kicked a goal in three weeks.

I'd like to make that four!

And I doubt that you could make that happen.  Hope I am wrong

Frustrating to watch how the cats find a way not to bottom out and attract free agents &  power forwards like Cameron, one of the challenges of our club who has to compete with 9 clubs in melb vs the uniqueness of Geelong/lifestyle & able to train and play on their home ground

Makes sense NC.  May goes to Hawkins.

T-Mac to Cameron?

Nailed it, DZ. He’s growing into the role too, and needs consistent exposure at AFL level to be the mainstay I reckon he’ll become.

As to the Geelong game, I watched them live yesterday, and they were very good. Carlton exposed their lack of speed in the backline though, and would have snatched it had their decision making/ball use been better, Carlton’s shabby backline notwithstanding. At this stage, even if we beat Geelong (all gonna be about the midfield and contested ball), it’s hard not to see them finishing top of the ladder, and by some margin. They’ve got a teensy injury list (Dangerfield included) and a ridiculously easy fixture. Injuries are the only thing that will stop this happening.

That assumes they get through their game against the blues on Saturday injury free.

I'm predicting two hammy tweaks and a suspension.

Almost nailed it.

Danger is an A grader = two b grader hammy.

And I'm suspending my assessment of the blues.

I mean they were soundly beaten by the cats, with late goals flattering them. A reality check

Real contenders don’t give up 20 goals.

If i accept the prevailing wisdom on DL that next week is some sort of critical litmus test on our premiership bona fides surely the blues just failed their test?

Did anyone see the Henry incident? Seemed to hit a Carlton player high and then kicked a goal. Might be in trouble

I know Tmac has been very good down back and I'm happy for him to stay. But maybe the temptation to move him fwd is wrong. He struggled there in the last 2 years. A lot longer than Petty has. So not an easy call either way.

I would add hunter in for woe.. no need to change the backline which kept the tigers to 40 points. Leave petty in the forward line. He isn’t that far off from kicking a bag

Pettys best half of football this year was down back. If he starts badly up forward, I suggested to swap Petty with TMac, not a permanent move.

Also TMac seems in better shape this year movement wise, versus last year where his movement was more like turning the Titanic!
