Actually after watching the replay didn’t look like a free

It wasn't. Side not back.

Clarry’s kicking has been terrible

Sometimes I wonder why Sparrow gets selected.

Today is one of them.

he is pretty important to the midfield rotation and making sure our other mids get a rest

Better quarter, much more contested ball and a few more (earned) free kicks our way.

Our movement is better this week but our kicking inside 50 is still ****house. 3 marks i50 from 27 entries, vs 8 from 27 for them. Need to do a lot better at kicking to advantage

Still a lot of work needed on our entries. Oliver has absolutely butchered some of his entries. Trying to be too cute and just completely missing the target.

Feel like if we just get some better connection and can nullify Jones better we’ll run away with it.

Just today?

Credit to Goodwin. Our attacking method feels different. We are using the corridor more. Our field kicking has been good. We are taking a moment to assess the next kick attacking out of half back. I like it.

Nice to have BB and Tmac back. Both are doing their job well. Clarry is a beast. Really loving the look of howes, Windsor and billings.

Plenty to like!

May and Clarry physically monstering them

Billings and Windsor providing the class

Seeing a lot more kick and mark and spread than last year. Far from perfect but good to see Goody is implementing changes to the game plan

Gawn on track for 30 touches and 12 clearances and 36 hit outs

Umpiring standard this season leaves a lot to be desired.

We seemed to have taken our foot off their neck in the second halve of the second quarter.

Great effort from Bb and good to see Chin of old.

Kozzie gone cold.

May playing very well.

Hore is back where he belongs.

Jvr totally mia that quarter.

He and Fritta need to get going. Moreso Fritta.

Max atoning for last week.

Viney was quiet that quarter after a blistering start.

Milky in the rooms giving advice to fritta

obviously a coach in the making really good to see. And petty wandering around as well

If Sparrow and Fritta can get involved, this would be a big help in consolidating a lead.

Seemed like we took our foot off a little in the second half of that qtr. a little bit of a missed opportunity but I appreciate it’s warm out there. Might need to conserve energy?

Windsor has been excellent.  So quick of mind and hands. Love him already.

Using the half time breaks to read more this year.

Currently reading Hymns of the Republic by S.G Gwynne which details the last year of the Civil War. Highly recommend!

Hope the DA have the ice vests on at half time. 30oC in the helmets

tough goin

Pleasantly surprised by TMac, BBB and Hore. Sparrow has done SFA. Lever still below par.

Stoked with Bbb.

From reports I was expecting him to play with a cane

Literally just rocked in after running the length of Birrarung Marr no idea what's happening in the city

Isn't that stupid person who blocked freeway holding a rally.

If Kossie can have 10 quality possessions in the 2nd half we’ll win easily

Big if!!!

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
