I remember Kelvin Templeton coming across to Melbourne as a champion full forward.

I remember that. Templeton dragged himself into the first meeting by his arms, his useless lower body trailing helplessly behind him. His lower limbs showing signs of having recently been re-attached at the knees.

"Jesus Christ, it's Kelvin Templeton!" said the Dees brains trust. "Before we start the meeting, can you sign these footballs?"

"I ... I ... " wheezed Templeton. "Please, I ..." He slumped to the floor, coughing.

"Kelvin, is that ... blood dripping from your knees?" asked one committee member, noticed the blood pooling on the floor under the great forward.

"Oh, that ..." gasped Templeton. "I'm fine ... it only hurts ... it only hurts when I .... breathe ... oh, God ..." He then lost consciousness.

"Jesus, fellas" said the chairman. "We'd better sign him before Collingwood hears he's on the market."

Having said that, I have happy memories of a game at Princes Park where he ripped the Blues a new one. Good times!

FD I think that sums up all of us who were there that day, I thought the game was over and we had won.

Good to see JUH has done nothing special to date.

He was their best forward against us a few weeks ago. Had a good game

Unless we lose one of JVR or Petty, I can't see us going big on any opposition KPF.

Nah, I'd prefer that Jackson guy who plays for Freo. He looks a likely type.

The trade cost would be too much. Freo would expect two good first-round picks at least.

What did they let Jesse Hogan go for?

After seeing our man Jefferson on the weekend in the VFL I am feeling a lot better about our forward mix, with or without Petty going forward.

Marked like a weapon...couldn't kick but if he gets that sorted I can't wait to see Jeffo and JVR in the same forward line.  No need to splurge on a JUH in my opinion.

Anyone worried about the form of LVR?

That's Liam who isnt playing well at all.But his cousin Jacob is playing a difficult role with a great attitude and is important to the team.

Jeffo had one good quarter at Casey and was average for the rest of the game. Took some good marks but kicked poorly. Should've had 5

Needs to start showing he's consistently more than VFL level.

Very early days, but it would be fair to say that BBB won't play every game this year and an opportunity will come knocking at some point if Jeffo is ready

That excites me...c'mon JEFFO!!!

JUH is playing with a knee injury, makes him less viable as option as a replacement for any of our tall forwards going west.

Sign a blank check and give it to him and send Petty to the Crows for their first pick and hand it over to the Doggies with one of our 2nds.

Develop Jeffo as a CHB / FB.

Frankly Lockett, Dunstall, Norm Smith, Coleman or Coventry would struggle if our mids revert to the old long high bomb instead of the low kick forward that we were starting to do with some success earlier in the season.

Long and low even if not at a specific target but into space lessens the chances of an intercept and gives crumbs a chance.

He certainly has the X Factor and he won’t win a Flag at the Dogs…

Whenever ‘Marra has a good game this thread gets trotted out. It’s never gonna happen! 😅

Doggies need picks to rejuvenate their list. They need defenders and Naughton ain’t going. Darcy will play Forward and they’ll sign English.

I have a Doggies friend in the know who is supremely confident ‘Marra is not going anywhere, he’s a Bulldog for keeps.

JUH isn’t going anywhere. If anything I think that’s good for everyone else, as the dogs have a lot of talls on good money, but they still don’t have anything that resembles an AFL standard backline.

Just on Jamarra, he looks an absolute superstar. He controls the ball at such height, and it all looks effortless. I was skeptical at first, but he’s going to be in the top 5 players in the comp. Goes to show it takes longer with tall forwards. Hang in there Jeffo.

Oh…whatsa Marra with you friend.

I feel down the track, JUH becomes exactly like Jeremy Cameron.

Just does as he pleases and burns opponents at will

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
