Is JVR playing as a CHF or a deep forward?

Hard to say from this vision.  Would need to ve watching from behind the goals to tell what he is or isn't doing.

Mostly 'isn't' so far

2nd

xx scoring !! One goal!!!  Inside 50s x 28

xx fumbles. Laurie. Rivers.
Xx dropped marks in forward 50. Sparrow. Fritsch. Chandler
xx kick to packs !! Still !!!

👏👏May. Howes. Viney.

none of the umpires are consistent on this rule

Jack Viney decapitated - HTB.

And now a ridiculous 70 to give them a goal

Tough conditions I know but the skills from both sides are terrible.

About time someone other than me said it.

Two questions regarding rules. They highlighted Grundy taking away Gawn’s space at centre bounces, he goes straight to the man before the ball is up in the air, I’m surprised that’s permitted.

Second one is the McDonald has the ball from the mark on the forward 50, May stranded from the stand rule but McDonald is allowed to go straight towards goal ignoring May’s positioning and off the line of the mark, umpire doesn’t call play on. I don’t mind the rule, but that’s insanely unfair on the defensive team.

Gawn needs to meet him halfway. If Gawn is remaining stationary and Grundy is simply taking the available space then fair play. Gawn needs to be more proactive.

Laurie subbed off. Billings on. About time!

The biggest worry is no run or connection by hand.  Mostly up & under kicks and the mid field looks to be right off the pace.

That's aside from the usual forward woes.

Is that Premiership coach Goodwin?

Looks like all the toxins are coming out of Oliver's pores.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
