I reckon that will tumble in by the bounce.

I love that Salos back in town. How many times, especially pre flag, have I seen a shambolic Melbourne - to be cured by a Salem tackle/block/turnover/sidestep and perfect delivery.

Statement play and recalibrates the whole team

Might have a sneaky $50 on us at that price

Geez, talk about going from one extreme to the other. Why are roughing up JJ & tapping him on the backside the only two choices for Viney? Just because Danny says no to roughing him up doesn’t mean he suggests the tap on the backside.

FWIW, JJ left our Club because we weren’t in a position to afford him the opportunity that he’s now getting at Sydney. Zero animosity. He left with our collective blessing. Same goes for Toby.

You’re wasting your time trying to explain anything to this poster.

It really highlights how easily people are swayed by media sentiment. The bookies would be loving it.

Watched the Sydney game against Brisbane and Ladhams was far away the better ruckman between he and Grundy.

Grundy ran around looking like he lacked the required match fitness.

Hmmm that’s really interesting… particularly for my SuperCoach team 😬

I’d give Clarry another week to build up after a very interrupted pre season

I have a feeling that Clarry's absence is not just form or fitness related, and as such i think he will come back when Max and the team say he can return to the ones.

Seriously???? A four time B & F and all Aussie and you want to flirt with team oks?

Nup if he is ready he plays! No ifs or buts

Who gets Papley? He’s the only forward of theirs that worries me. He’ll either kick 5 or 0

McVee is my guess. Little Papa might run through the middle as well.

Agree, if Paps gets off the chain he could change the whole match very quickly. Juddy or perhaps Riv?

Is the Swans midfield in disarray?

l certainly hope we go in with a preparedness to take them on. According to today’s AFL website story: Double Trouble. Pair’s Injuries Add to Swans Midfield Woes. Beyond the glib headlines they bat rather deep.

Absolutely not in disarray, and as for people saying if Clarrie is physically fit he plays no ifs or but, that would be a massive mistake. The club knows what they are doing and if he’s ready they will play him. If they choose to give him another week or so it will be for the best.

Swans midfield still has Guilden, Warner, Heeney, with Sheldrick who will step up this year and Jordan, Rowbottom to run through there. Papley may also get short stints through there. I don’t think our FD will be underestimating them

Mate, Clarry lacking match fitness will not be the difference between winning and losing.

Clarry is more important than one game. the club will do what’s best for him

We covered him very well last year

If our culture is so fragile that it requires Oliver having an unofficial and hidden (from the public/supporters) first team suspension to not shatter it, we have some pretty deep issues.

I don't have blind faith in the club, but I don't believe that we have problems of that magnitude.

If you believe in selection integrity, there is absolutely no rational justification for Oliver not playing given he has been reintegrated into the team and has played two practice matches.

Papley can have an all Australian small defender on him every game and he’ll still do what he does every second weeks. Loves being under fire, loves being roughed up, loves being doubted and especially loves being a focal point. Take care of the rest of the ground and Papley can’t do anything.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
