Not an easy thing to deal with, especially an athlete. Still his 2021 grand final game was epic. His intercept marking an off ball pressure went un-talked but but was nearly best on ground.

I clicked on the link above and my computer froze and my display is now cactus.  Anyone have the same issue?

If not for standout games from Fritta, Trac and maybe Bont could’ve jagged the Norm Smith.
Players have done less in GF and got one.

I read the thread title and thought is was the new Francis Ford Coppola movie.

I thought he had it sewn up in the first quarter.
And yes, Johannasen won one which surprised many.

Johanniesen was electric that day. Hardly been the same player since.

If Salem can rediscover his 2021 form, he'll be a huge boost for the team and our chances and winning the flag. I'm praying he has an injury free pre-season.

I think the Ch 7 comentators were willing him on to be a game changing influence again when he took that grab in the 3rd qrt of the 21 GF as well, but alas ... 😔

🤣

The big speccy on the goal line? Flash in the pan. A two handed shove out on Bowser’s shoulders. Great for the crowd and television audience but not in the spirit of the rules. But as we know karma kicked in massively and put Jojo and the rest on their arses.

Funny people have different views on games, I was surprised on the day he won it. He turned the ball over numerous times though, his run off half back was eye catching but after re watching that game a few times I haven’t changed my mind he’d be 5th at best in my BOG that day

1. McRae - every disposal connected and set up transition. Super clean all day and composed with ball in hand

2. Boyd - best big man on the ground impacted aerial contest all day by clunking or bringing the ball to ground and impacted the scoreboard

3. Kennedy - was just a contested beast, close to the best stoppage display in a GF, virtually turned the momentum himself in the second quarter

4. Picken - kept bobbing up as half forward providing pressure and hit up option whilst also impacting the scoreboard

5. Then JJ

Yes, it would be great, without risking breaching copyright (ie don’t cut and paste) to get a brief précis on what in particular he needs to come back from.  NB knee, calf, thyroid, etc

"Surely not!" i chortle to myself as i google images to confirm my rock solid recollection of a blonde Johanissen on his way to his 2016 Norm Smith. But bugger me, you are absolutely right. 🤣

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
