Injury List: Round 11

Jake Bowey — ankle / Test
Jacob van Rooyen — concussion / Test
Daniel Turner — calf / 2 - 3 weeks
Charlie Spargo — Achilles / 2 - 3 weeks
Marty Hore  — calf / 3 - 5 weeks
Jake Lever — knee / 4 - 6 weeks
Jake Melksham  — knee / 4 - 6 weeks
Josh Schache — Achilles/ 4 - 6 weeks

If Bowey and JVR are fit to go this week , then we only have Jake Lever out of our Best 22 in my view.

We have had a few injuries but overall our main players have been playing each week.

No excuses at all for our loss last week or if indeed we lose to the Saints.

Any chance J Smith can be moved from the injury list?

He's not injured, will most likely never play AFL again and it just makes out injury list look bigger than it is.

Another injury update, another week of Charlie Spargo being listed as 2-3 weeks away from selection.

Out this week

Marty Hore Calf 3-5 weeks

Jake Lever knee 4-6 weeks

Jake Melksham knee 4-6 weeks

Josh Schache foot 4-6 weeks

Joel Smith suspended tbc

Charlie Spargo Achilles 2-3 weeks

Daniel Turner calf 2-3 weeks

Really only LEVER is best 22

note pies are missing Elliott mcstay DEGOEY Mitchell Howe Hoskin-Elliott. 6 best 22 players. Wow.

Turner gone from 2-3 to Test; that's a nice change.

Spargo gone from 2-3 to TBC: that's possibly a sad change.

Just admit already that you have no idea what's wrong with Spargo and no idea how to fix it.

Melksham seems to have drifted out a fair way from his KB target.

Injury List: Round 12

Tom Fullarton — hamstring / Test
Harrison Petty — ankle / Test
Daniel Turner — calf / Test
Marty Hore  — calf / 2 - 3 weeks
Josh Schache — Achilles / 2 - 3 weeks
Jake Lever — knee / 3 - 4 weeks
Jake Melksham  — knee / 3 - 5 weeks
Charlie Spargo — Achilles/ TBC

Might be worth actually listening to Selwyn, if you haven't. Mentioned they'd ramped Spargo's loads up, he was still sore so they intervened (I'm assuming surgery). Hence the blow out of his time frames

March.  Before round zero.

Charlie had some Achillies soreness with a bit of posterior ankle impingement as well and we’ve been able to get on top of that over the last few weeks. He completed a really good re-conditioning session last week and completed main training today, so he’s available for selection this week.”

Then he plays v swans

listed as injured before dogs match

now 12 weeks later

Charlie’s achilles must be a problem.
“he’s had an intervention and will be off legs right now “.

what happened? ruptured ??? Strain would be a few weeks so this is a huge setback again to be having an intervention

Not sure what intervention meant.  I also thought surgery but usually they say so.  It’s a mystery still imv

I notice that Luker Kentfield is NOT on this list but was rumored to be carrying an injury.
Any inside info anyone? Has he trained?

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
