There was a clear "kicking in danger" vs Hawks that was not paid. He looked to be impacted by that

Yes, it was obvious to everyone at the ground except the umpires

I gues getting the ball 30+ times a match eventually catches up with you. No longer leather poisoning, but bone bruising

A dislocation at training and he’s sent for precautionary scans, and all of a sudden reports of things supposedly seen in a game played last Saturday, take over the thread. How Demonland!!

Clarry's hands are so fast, I'd be surprised if a scan showed up as any more than a blur

There’s no hits — In fact just opposite with Mayesy running round and Lever tipped to play alongside Clarry for that matter so I’d say it’s been an extremely positive day

Absolutely 💯% These injuries could have been so much worse.
Saturday night will be dam hard, but if we can get over Port, it will be a great result for the entire list

I hear you HT,  ..but I also saw a Dee reach to pick up the ball then a Hawk kicked it off the ground in danger (no free). The commentator didn't mention it. Reminded me of school games years ago. Cheers Tim

By one maggot in particular. God i hope we don't get him again..

Yeah Rob, I did see that as well; from memory it was in the second half of the game (I was at band rehearsal and missed the first half), and I’m pretty sure (read 86.6748888%) it was not Oliver.

Yeah, I was about 86.674888% sure it wasn't Oliver too. As a guitarist I was too busy cringing for my hands. Hope your bands gig goes well Tim!

Sunday was a fantastic gig Rob. We had Richard Burgman from the Saints and Sunnyboys sitting in on guitar, Paul Field from an old 80’s band called The Cockroaches doing a bit of singing, Murray from The Wiggles (Paul Field used to manage them), playing some guitar, as well as a bunch of other people. So much fun and I am pleased to report that my energy levels lasted out the whole gig. Next one is coming up next Saturday at Smith’s Alternative in Canberra (6th April).

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
