I wonder if the nature of the facility means anyone would be punished for going there....

McAdam will be a bargain recruit.

Agree 100% Dazz, but also on what I saw of Billings last Friday, he will also become a bargain basement buy with huge upside! T. Mac down back? well on what I saw I would say if thats the case it's all over, unfortunately just too slow.

Big year for Bill Laurie, a lot of competition for spots and I worry his lack of pace will see him never consolidate a half forward gig and lack of size will hurt him in the middle. But his game against Sydney as the sub was really good, he’s got some real class. Hopefully he can keep impressing on the track.

Spargs hitting targets as usual and Trac powering through the middle.

Yep, have been into this since the start. Was showing some excellent form before suspension, then just couldn’t bust back into the fold. Must have been frustrating, and I reckon he’ll want to prove one or two things to his previous employers.

Agree it's a big year as it is for Woewodin but I can't see Bill making it in the present gameplan. Perhaps if we moved the ball faster and more directly he could be a useful player. Hard to tell

I can’t believe we pay people for weird trick shots and a fascination with the new kids hair.

If I was coaching Lachie Hunter and he was kicking the ball from a cone I’d shove it where the sun don’t shine.

Come on MFC media, give us something interesting.

Interesting clip in terms of highlighting good and bad kicking technique.

I cant make out who has the first kick to Trac, but good technique with the ball drop close to his foot and hits a stationary Tracc.

The last kick is by brown, and again good technique with the ball drop close to his foot and hits a leading Farris White.

The odd man out is tracc. Ball drop nowhere near his foot. Terrible technique.

It's actually a nice kick in terms of putting it in space for i think Farell to run onto which keep the ball in motion - a kick that Tracc is good at, in large part because there is bigger margin for error than say spotting up a stationary target or kicking for goal.

IF we can release Brown and Windsor like that through the middle and off half back. It will change our transition game immensely. Not saying itll happen straight away but having the ball in Brown, Windsor, Spargs and Billings hands going i50 will change our shape in the coming years.

We'll be souped up.

(Sorry)

I think I spotted Chandler in one of the clips the club posted today. Good to see him back on board!

Since 2020, when Petracca has more than his season average for score involvements

2020 (more than 6) 5 wins 2 losses

2021 (more than 8) 11-0

2022 (more than 8) 10-1

2023 (more than 8) 8-1

In a nutshell, if Petracca plays an above average game and turns his possessions into scores we win.  If he kicks well we go into God mode (see end 2021)

Of course, one could argue it's the forwards output as much as the kicker but if there's one wish I have for next year is he has an up year in terms of his kicking.  Only Bont and Martin come close (and not even that close) to his importance in converting midfield possession to where it matters.

A sight for sore eyes!

Can't wait to cheer on Gus in round 1!

I hope he is, he has the skills.  But his 2km time trial showed where he lacks.

and has been the knock on him the whole time he was at Adelaide.

big pre-season for him to change that opinion of him.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
