Will be a future pick as Brisbane need to start banking points for the younger Ashcroft who is tipped to be pick 1 next year

I saw him kick 7 for the Lions at the Gabba the year before last - they had huge wraps on him then.  Daniher in and Fort as 2nd ruck behind Big O has kept him in the two's.

Lots of talent....opportunity and development - not sure

In the VFL you mean.

Done a little sleuth on Brisbane bigfooty and they don’t care about losing him. Think he’s a bit soft like Schache, though apparently he is not scared of his own shadow like Schache. Future 4th and see how he goes in a new environment.

Asked my Brisbane supporting mate who said

  • Very good standard VFL player, decent AFL depth player at best
  • Athletic former basketballer
  • Forward who can provide relief in ruck
  • He’s def > schache

no chance we are giving a second rounder for a bloke that played zero games this year despite McStay leaving and will very likely play zero games in 2024

Want to wager that DD. In what world are you living in. Who is Maxy's  back up then?

if he was here this year he would have been either in our Semi team or as Sub instead of Schache. He like Schache can play a key position so is more versatile than Brody.

Yep Levi and they say he could be better than will, lions will be a force for a long time

good cheap move you'd think. I wonder if we're looking to bring in a more A/B grade talent this year or next based off this move. it'll be interesting to see.

Might not be the case, unless we acquire additional later picks - trading a F2, F3 or F4 would prevent us from being able to use our F1 in any deals, to my understanding. Don’t want to hamstring ourselves & foul any potential moves.

As a result, a move for Fullarton might be left until late in the period.

i meant if he stayed at Lions he wouldn’t play next year, hence not worth much to them

he should get a look in with us especially if we don’t trade in another ruck/fwd

you are all gonna hate me for this. i’ve got his nickname.

We’ve had JLo, now…. ToFu

irony is he loves a steak

All I know about him is what is what I’ve read in this thread. Appears to fit the profile of what we’re looking for. Should be a straight forward trade. Get it done quickly and move on to bigger targets.

Apparently the Lions fans call him "full cream"

He’s going to need to work very hard to play a senior game. He does have that TDK look going for him so who knows.

Future 4th would be preferred- then we can still trade our F1st.

Understand now DD. Yes if we don't get another ruck/forward in Tom will be very handy IMO. Also can play CHF or FF.

really?   any idea why?

i wont guess as I'll get banned

PC guess - he only plays 4% of games?

6 pack of CC n Dry.  Not even going the full slab this time

True story - a irish international round ball football player was transferred to another club in the 80's for a tracksuit

Nothing more than someone to contest the ruck should Max get injured -   don't think he's anything more.

So we re-signed Schache for?

PSV have always had a great scouting network and being owned by Philips used to trade for some of the best young overseas talent with electrical equipment and white goods. When the original Ronaldo ended up in Eindhoven (aka The City of Light) a set of floodlights went the other way to Brazilian side Cruzeiro.

Your tracksuit story is better though.

I wonder who's ahead in the depth chart and in line for a game if Max goes down - Schache or Fullarton.

neither Goody will make another bizarre decision

Dont know why we bother Max wont let anybody play

Why do people keep fixating on this?

Schache is 25 yo kpf/ruck depth that has a reasonable amount of AFL experience but isn't necessarily asking for too much more. It's very hard to find. Even if he plays the year at Casey - he takes the best defender and helps them win, all of which helps our other young players develop.

For the 1s he's a total emergency backup who can at least follow team structures and at best, could neutralise an opposition player.

Not every player we sign or re-sign needs to be best 22 or even best 30. It takes a whole list to get this stuff done.

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
