GWS in their grand final appearance all over again.

Is there such a thing as GWSSS?

They sure looked messy out there for the first 20 minutes but Collingwood failed to do the damage and now Western Sydney seem to have steadied a bit.

I don’t know why fifty isn’t called when the filth hold the player up trying to get the ball back to the free receiver.

absolute gun? good lord.

a good key position player and a very good mark.

never kicked more than 28 goals in his career. played 13 games for the best team this year for 18 goals

Watch him next year. He's got all the assets and hasn't been able to put it together so far.

Maynard is the hero Collingwood deserve.

Maynard's been bumping and shoving all night.

He's just a hired thug who never goes the ball.

Not sure Bedford or Hogan have had a possession so far this game. Hogan has made a contest and Bedford's tackling pressure has been good, but they'd want to represent the ex-Dees club a bit better. Howe has been excommunicated and no longer deserves ex-Demon honours.

We are absolutely on here lads. GWS aren't rattled and the Pies know it. The crowd will still keep the Pies in it by screaming for every 10/90 though.

Maynard just an average suburban footballer wannabe thug

Giants are just warming up, have faith

gw$ look ragged

I reckon they will actually  run over the top of the filth.

The filth jumped us kicking 4 goals in the first quarter. They then only kicked 5.4 for the rest of the night.

Hopefully GWS kick into gear and can run over them with some straight kicking.

Keep ‘em coming !!!
was on a work call with a NSW vendor this week (I’m in northern NSW) and I must’ve sounded down and they asked what was up and I tried to explain about the Carlton loss and Collingwood fans and it got into a convo about which rugby fans / club were most hated (storm and sea eagles and the broncos as it turns out). Amazingly they already have grand final tickets even though their teams aren’t in it? What’s up with that?

Ok, Pie did not get much rewards from their output, GWS will get their turn in the 2nd half.

I’ve never hated a player more, not since every member of the Essendon 2000 GF team.
he makes Toby Greene look like Jesus H Christ .

Is Moore working on a street corner after the game?

He'll wait until he retires to make announcements

“Just got that cheeky shot of Nick Daicos on the bench” ffs.

Horrific commentary. The game is an absolute cracking Preliminary final with insane pressure and BT is rabbiting about crowd size, 19th men and bench antics. This is the kind of content you wheel out at 1.10pm on a Sunday in June to find something to say, not on the 2nd biggest game of the year.

Hard to watch to be honest - could/should have been us out there. The Pies don't look all that invincible, we had their measure. Hope GWS get up all the same.

They are also cribbing the mark every time without penalty. It’s a clear tactic.

No surprise 5 frees Pies to 1 GWS.

[censored] me. Why the late call? The hold was clear as day and the play had continued.
Again cheating umpires.

Not interested in British team sports.

Are you from Sidee ?  Who cares?

I want GWS to smash the Filth.

Who cares about cricket?   ffs.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
