Salem needs to be dropped. Simple.

How TF is [censored] McStay getting on top of us.

We’re supposed to have the best (or close) defence in the league.

And where TF is Salem? Completely unsighted thus far.

How'srt down backthat playing a less tall down back going for you Goodwin??

McStay has shown we're a tall short down back

The best thing McDonald can do is admit the game is past him and retire from the game…

We just don’t have the players in the forward line. Put Petty and Melksham into the team, and it all looks very different. Laurie is not in the same ballpark as Brayshaw.

And bring back Burgess - we’re being outrun on transition.

Rivers having not such a good game…

The worst part is we are screwed for the rest of the finals as we don’t have any key forwards left.

Exactly.

Can we get Port’s Dr down to the ground, stat!

I’m not coping. Mrs Super is a Pies person (along with that entire side of the family) and she is being very understanding and providing pastoral care

If only I could be so lucky. My husband has got chummy with the morons sitting behind me. My radio has just died so I can’t even block their noise out. No comforting for me. 😩

Laughing at everyone blaming the forward line, even Dunstall or Plugger would've struggled with these awful entries, take a look at the mids first and foremost.

Surely we need to put Smith behind the ball. We have set up with three "talls" in the back half for most of the season. He plays tall and has closing speed and is not needed up forward.

GET ANGRY!!!!

GET FIRED UP!!

7 minutes, let’s put a few on and flex in the last. I think we’re the fitter team and can run it out we just need a window and to capitalise on possession and forward entries

The most outside of outside players - totally unsuited to the big bodies and physicality the filth have brought tonight

2 in a row is mission Impossible

2 goals in nearly 3 quarters of football in finals is embarrassing

And Goody said Tmac was moving well.

Been a great player but I  hope he doesn't  play again.

We are sending May and Lever up the ground, and leaving Rivers and McVee to match against them. 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Goodwin no clue today

Its been a major selection blunder.

The 3rd tall defender was why our defensive system was number 1 in the competition.

Here I was having faith back on our coaching staff again.

So disappointing

Hey Goody, it's the forward line, stupid. Don't [censored] hang your hat on dining out on bottom 8 teams.

McDonald is a [censored] witches hat

We’re short of options due to injuries. Our game plan going inside f50 is just not good enough.

Can't give up goals like that. Extremely poor.

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
