I always remember Travis Johnstone's output in his contract years being about 10 times higher than every other year.

steve motlop did this and got a 4 year deal at the cats and then a 4year FA deal at port, best two years he played

I think some forget that before his achillies this year he was actually fully fit and dominating the match sim games.

Looked a completely different play compared to his first year. If he can get his body fully fit and start getting some good conditioning in then who knows.

Whilst I havent written him off, I acknowledge he is coming from a long way back now.

Big IF!

They should delist him now and free up a space.

It was a dumb trade from the start and has only got dumber.

I can. There are reasons we have finished 14th and the laughing stock of the comp.

I didn't say that.

2019 0 games

2020 13 games

2021 15 games

2022 15 games

2023 7 games

2024 3 games

2025 0 games

They are all the facts we need.

He never plays full seasons, always looks unfit and some moron traded a second round pick for him. It was and still is one of the dumbest trades we have ever made, we picked a NQR injury prone player and gave him 3yrs on decent coin and gave the Crows what pick 30 or something? Ludicrous.

we thought we could get him fit but alas not to be.

worth a punt because he has talent but his body isn't up to it unfortunately

I dispute this heavily. Just because he never got to Brownlow/MVP levels he could've, doesn't mean he wasn't a good player over a long period. He wasn't really up and down, and he was most definitely a big game player. He was amongst our best in nearly every final he ever played in for us. (Ignore my username)

On McAdam, I doubt we'll see him play seniors again. Two games in two seasons and he's still not even fit heading into preseason number three as a 30 year old who has never got through a season before. He was a poor trade and isn't part of our future plans. Another Lamb special!

Fitness wasn't his issue in pre-season as he was training the proverbial house down by all accounts.

The unfortunate and untimely Achilles injury cost him the whole year. Let's give him a chance to prove himself in 2026.

McAdam is contracted for another year. The club can't simply delist him. Even if he retired and the club paid him out, that payment is still part of our salary cap. We'd simply be a player short.

fitness is not a problem when he's fit. i can't fault that logic

I've nothing against the lad and i'm not as down on Lamb for recruiting him as some others are. i hope he can get himself right and contribute to the team.

I think everyone knows this one was a bit of a punt. High risk, high reward sort of a thing.

Given our dual straight sets exits, I can see we were trying to become more dynamic/dangerous i50.

He certainly has the potential. Sometimes these things land and sometimes they don't. We'd be praising Lamb if it worked. Anyway, still a year left, you never know.

I hope Shane has some luck with his body and tears it up in 2026.

You're confusing fitness with injury.

You could be the fittest player in the league and still cop a season-ending injury.

Yes, I too wish that Shane hadnโ€™t made the conscious choice to tear his Achilles tendon.

It is a well known fact that you can simply train and fitness yourself to the point where your Achilles tendon decides not to tear.

Ah. I see

When i say fit to play i mean free from injury

McAdam was looking very good in this year's pre-season. I believe the tendon injury came very late in the lead up to our opening game. To that point he was looking likely to play against GWS. Any suggestion that he was unfit at that point is far from the truth.

This sounds about right as I think he was told he would fill in for Kozzie during his suspension.

He certainly was told this and that added to his already growing confidence. To say he was unfit at the time is simply incorrect. When he went down at the intra-club match in February he was the fittest and most confident heโ€™d ever been in his career. Fortunately his determination and confidence havenโ€™t wavered whatsoever. In fact, heโ€™s even more determined now.

Gawn played 4 games in 3 years mainly due to injury. This guy ain't Gawn but we receive nothing if we delist him

Tears it up? That's like saying Macbeth to actors in a theatre

Could he do what Jack Martin has done in 2 finals for the Cats after years of injury mixed with flashy brilliance. Of course he could.

Letโ€™s back him; only needs to play 12-15 games - and 3 finals!

Jesus H Christ, he was fit as and did his achilles. Clearly not his fault.

How about backing in one of our players who is down on luck? Not to old to have a late career revivial?

How many wrote off Melksham? including myself
