So Clarry for McAdams is off the table then?

Yes. It's been a tough day for us.

Pick 39 for Jordon. Feels about correct weight for McAdam.

Either for him or Fullarton.

Yep, our two late second round picks get the Fullarton and McAdam deals done.

Leaves us with 2 first rounds and after Grundy deal we should have 2 picks inside 30.  I reckon we will bundle up picks to improve our draft order taking 3 top 20ish picks and Brown.  I think if Harmes goes it will be more about draft position than a later pick.

Overs for Fullarton based on output to date.

I don’t want to come across as greedy but I’m expecting Shane to kick something close to 23 goals in his first 3 game for Melbourne, just like uncle Adrian did in 1993 for North.

Paddy Dow expected to go for a future 4th rounder.

23yo 3rd round selection.

Bit of an insite into the value of McAdam, God I hope we don't give up a second rounder.

Dow for a future 4th round - like pick 70 in 2024 draft.  Blues should be just delisting him.

I think it's so he definitely gets to his club of choice, but yeh Carlton won't be using that pick

Pick 46 for McAdam it is then

Or to the PSD, not that we normally operate that way, but if Adelaide are really cracking the sads we won't trade a contacted Petty to them just because they want him, then they must forget they have no leverage with the uncontracted McAdam

Can someone point me to where I find the AFL rules that govern drafting, free agency, compensation picks, academy etc etc.

I have always found it hard to find this stuff on the AFL website and I like to understand what I am reading.

I think it is the Sheldon in me. ( Not the Carlton player ).

Maybe you would need a psychoanalyst, and some sort of functional PET CT of the cerebrum of Gil (or of Dill) - they seem to dream these things up as they go along.

It’s rare a player requests a move to a club and does not get to their destination. Play hard Crows and see how that works for you now and in the future.

Looked at his highlights again

A little underwhelming seems also to go missing for periods during games

Anyway Im sure the club knows better

You saw ‘highlights’ where he went missing?

Went and read the Adelaide BF board to see the reactions when this news first came out. In general, most see him as best 22, "a shame to lose him" and and as someone who "changes their forward line dynamic significantly". In the context of Adelaide I don't know exactly what that means (less Walker centric? Takes a defender away from Rankine?) but probably the best way I can describe this is if we were to lose Melksham (3 years ago), or maybe from today's team, a Sparrow or a Bowey. Good player, not a game changer.

They also said he has a strange habit of pretending he's injured (or emphasising bad knocks), particularly after he does something bad (e.g. missing a shot for goal). Weird trait but several of them mentioned it unprompted by each other...

According to gettable on Trade Radio, we have offered a future second rounder for McAdam.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
