Incidentally, his dad stopped playing footy only a few years ago. He’d possibly still be playing now only he quit when he equalled the games played record at Coldstream FC because the guy who held the record on his own had recently lost his daughter to cancer and Scott didn’t wanna take the title away from him. Now they share the title.

what was the record, wcw?

Bloody Collingwood fans winding me up with fake insider info, @WCW really relying on you here.

The longer this is delayed, the more likely you'd have to think the club is consulting specialists/surgeons for second opinions.

Melksham & Dunstan both had their scan the same day as Fritta.

Also suggest we update the title when we know because every time i see it pop up the top of the threads i have to relive 10 seconds of hell thinking the worst news has come to light every single time.

Or there is nothing to report? 🤷‍♀️

@WalkingCivilWar said it was a routine pre scheduled scan that would have taken place either way.
I assume 100 players a week get routine scans that are never reported on.

Edit: have you heard anything to contrary?

I assume there is nothing routine about having a scan on a surgically repaired foot which you clearly re-injured to some degree during your return game.

I know nothing but i'll ask. Club have kept this under wraps (even more concerning).

It’s possible they scan it at regular intervals to ensure there is no infection/ swelling given he’s had screws and plates put in

He came back on and looked very good and seemed very happy post game. So unless it’s gone south badly since, it seems unlikely it was anything serious.

An hour ago the club on its website put up an article on Fritta.

‘Fritsch firing just in time for finals’

Surely you don’t put a headline like that if something is amiss. I’m hoping anyway .

Hopefully! He's so vital.

Definitely agree but would love to hear it straight.

Nah. MFCSS and panic is right of passage.

I'd be amazed if he wasn't scanned after first game back.

The club put a post on the web site about an hour titled Fritsch firing in time for finals, don't know why they would do that if he was in doubt.

You overestimate internal communication at big organizations!

Lest we forget the 2017 finals marketing fiasco 😠

That said I think Fritsch is fine. There’s been no reason to think otherwise outside internet rumors.

I work in internal comms for a company 10x the size of mfc. whoever was sending that out would have had it audited and reviewed prior to sending. no way they do it if the scans were bad.

also, no update yet because the scans were precautionary and routine thus not announced by the club officially. therefore, no reason to proactively communicate the outcome given they didn't communicate the scan to begin with.

Watch the last Quarter.
there is no way Fritta could run and compete, the way he did, if he had a serious injury to his foot, even if he had a pain killing jab.
Whatch his run up when going for goal, looks great.

There was also a furore when Max got scans a few weeks ago but we were informed it was a scheduled scan & no more came if it. If it’s purely scheduled to see how the foot pulled up after the first big work out …not sure why supporters need to be informed about that ?

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
