Is it limited to one ticket per membership?

You’d think so vs the pies

Someone said recently on here that it's equal allocation numbers for each club. If so, could be several per membership, like last year

No chance. We have 67K members and the Pies have 101K.

No tickets will make it to general public.

Is it based upon membership numbers per club or is it equally divided up per club?

Equal allocations, but since we’ve both got more than 50K members, it’s unlikely we’ll get the opportunity for plus ones.

How early is too early to book flights to the prelim and/or GF 😎

No idea but it’s two Melbourne based clubs so members won’t be able to get multiple tickets. Last year we played Swans / Lions so both interstate clubs.

Watch them release all tickets at the same time for all games and have the site crash immediately. If we get equal allocation they should do a staggered release to avoid this level of angst.

There is no chance in hell this will all go smoothly.

Just need those sweet sweet tickets and away from black and white bin dippers

Can guarantee Ticketek will go into Meltdown at 10.05 with the demand for Tickets.

While Ticketek nominally assign Bays for the two clubs I don't think it is sophisticated enough to ensure the numbers are 50/50.  My impression last year was first in, best dressed.

Regarding the Ticketek 'premium' member option the computer didn't always deliver premium seats nor priority access.  The seat allocation seemed to be on price category rather than membership status.  Anyone could choose the highest priced tickets.

Generally, the computer seemed to allocate tickets (by price category) in a Bay until it was full then allocated tickets in the next available Bay.  Sometimes there were Bays with fans from both clubs but you don't know this until you get to the game.

Once the MCC, AFL and other group's seats are considered the allocation for club members will be relatively small.

Hopefully the tickets for Carlton/Sydney go on sale on the Wednesday to avoid a total meltdown.   The other games' tickets will be sold by Ticketmaster.

@Fear the beard will probably know more.

@WalkingCivilWar which end is DA?

I hope they allocate Melbourne seating away from Collingwood seating. I rather not die at this game.

We’ll be up the city end for this match. Bay 33

Flights from Brissie booked now. Please oh please Ticketek don't fail me now you cobbled together chain of pentium 386's.

Never been to a MFC final in my life adfter 56 years of supporting and over 15 years as a member.

Any tips for seating and getting tickets smoothly?

Pray.

Honestly, nothing else you can do other than queue and hope.

AFL members tix go on sale at midday and it is going to be a ****show with all games on sale at once. If the site doesn't crash it will be a miracle.

Thankfully it’s staggered this year. Collingwood v. Melbourne on sale at 12 on the Tuesday, Carlton v. Sydney and St. Kilda v. GWS on sale at 12 on the Wednesday.

Does anyone have any idea how to get the barcode if you don’t receive the email? Is it on the ticketek account?

I haven’t received emails from the club since prior to 2018

According to this, the two elimination finals are on sale on Wednesday, with just our game tomorrow

Why on earth are we in the Ponsford. Collingwood sit in M33 all year for home and away games and have made the Ponsford theirs. It is technically their home game (I understand it is meant to be neutral) and we prefer to be at Punt Road end? Surely this makes no sense.

There was a time during the current Melbourne cycle that goes back to before the premiership when the club was the toughest to beat in the fourth quarter. The Demons were not only hard to beat at any time but it was virtually impossible to get the better them when scores were close at three quarter time. It was only three or four years ago but they were fit, strong and resilient in body and mind. Sadly, those days are over. This has been the case since the club fell off its pedestal about 12 months ago after it beat Geelong and then lost to Carlton. In both instances, Melbourne put together strong, stirring final quarters, one that resulted in victory, the other, in defeat. Since then, the drop off has been dramatic to the point where it can neither pull off victory in close matches, nor can it even go down in defeat  gallantly.

  • CASEY: Footscray

At twenty-four minutes into the third term of the game between the Casey Demons and Footscray VFL at Whitten Oval, the visitors were coasting. They were winning all over the ground, had the ascendancy in the ruck battles and held a 26 point lead on a day perfect for football. What could go wrong? Everything. The Bulldogs moved into overdrive in the last five minutes of the term and booted three straight goals to reduce the margin to a highly retrievable eight points at the last break. Bouyed by that effort, their confidence was on a high level during the interval and they ran all over the despondent Demons and kicked another five goals to lead by a comfortable margin of four goals deep into the final term before Paddy Cross kicked a couple of too late goals for a despondent Casey. A testament to their lack of pressure in the latter stages of the game was the fact that Footscray’s last ten scoring shots were nine goals and one rushed behind. Things might have been different for the Demons who went into the game after last week’s bye with 12 AFL listed players. Blake Howes was held over for the AFL game but two others, Jack Billings and Taj Woewodin (not officially listed as injured) were also missing and they could have been handy at the end. Another mystery of the current VFL system.

  • PREGAME: Brisbane

The Demons head back out on the road in Round 10 when they travel to Queensland to take on the reigning Premiers and the top of the table Lions who look very formidable. Can the Dees cause a massive upset? Who comes in and who goes out?

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.
